Dr Pollock is a brilliant surgical oncologist and is highly respected with a dept of knowledge that is well known world wide by his colleagues and aggressive fibromatosis desmoid tumor patients, such as myself. His coordinated care with other specialties is the best approach. I am so thankful he coordinated my care.

Learning that you have cancer is one of the scariest times of your life! Dr. Pollock is the calming force behind treating it. I cannot express how compassionate he is along with being thorough and professional. He truly **listens** which is a rare quality among doctors these day, especially when dealing with specialists who think they know your body better than you. I come from Florida to be treated by Dr. Pollock and will continue to do so as long as he is practicing! Wonderful man!

Dr Pollock is at Ohio State now. Yan Chen is his nurse practitioner. Theyre an incredible team. I called him on a Monday and said I have a desmoid tumor verified by biopsy in the deep neck space. He said, yes i can help you. Can you come in Wednesday? And literally, everything was handled expertly from then until my surgery. He answered my relentless questions. He was personable and patient. Yan Chen is talented and dedicated as well. Their knowledge is phenomenal. I trust them 110%

My husband developed a sarcoma in his right arm out of the blue at the age of 43. He saw a highly reputable doctor (the chair of another sarcoma department) and was told that he would need an immediate amputation as the it would be too difficult to extract the tumor and that he had a dire and short future ahead of him. We saw Dr. Pollock for a second opinion and he had a completely different approach and outlook, with an attitude of confidence. Today, my husband still has his right arm and it is fully functional. He is cancer free and expects to stay that way. To say that my husband and our entire family feel an enormous amount of gratitude toward Dr. Pollock would be an incredible understatement.

This man literally saved my life when no other Dr would even try to perform the surgery he did. My tumor is gone and I am in remission and I have him to thank for it. I smile every time I see his picture, I will never forget when he knelt beside my bed to talk to me, how many doctors do that?

If you or a loved one have a sarcoma, desmoid or soft tissue tumor of any type-look no further for your physician! Dr. Pollock is the most knowledgeable physician in this area; he is an extremely skilled surgeon; has done tons of research in this area and is published many, many times. He is kind, honest, & will listen to you! I am a Registered Nurse with my Bachelor's Degree with many chronic health problems,as well as many health problems in my family. I have been misdiagnosed NUMEROUS times in the past, so I do a lot of my own research and ask LOTS of questions! (I am a physician's worst nightmare! LOl!) I go into a visit with pages of questions, and Dr. Pollock sits there patiently for as long as it takes to answer EVERY one! I have NEVER felt rushed, or gotten the feeling that he wasn't there with me 100%! MD Anderson is simply the best facility as well! Every staff member is helpful, kind, and caring! Many patient ammenities like rooms with recliners, blankets & pillows to relax between appointments; a library for patients to do research; lots of support staff to help find your way around; the list goes on and on. I live in KY, and Dr. Pollock is IN-NETWORK with my insurance-this is pretty common since MDA is the #1 cancer hospital in the country, so make sure and check. This means that you will not pay any more to go to MDA than your local hospital (not including travel/lodging expenses) They also have an entire department to help you with that as well! Many hotels have free shuttles to take you back and forth to MDA. Sarcomas and soft tissue tumors are frequently deadly, so you need to go to the best, and that is Dr. Pollock!!
