I'm taking this public, I was a patient of their podiatry Physician Dr. Kevin Springer I am unsatisfied with their care. They haven't done anything for me or my condition it hasn't changed. They refused sign my intermittent paperwork thru my job say I have make appointment and see the doctor in order get my intermittent L.O.A documents filled out and faxed. Which was very important and provided job protection if I am absent . . It's all financial & politics. It's like Come see the doctor pay 75.00 co pay if you want your paperwork for work filled out or suffer.. I'lll just go Ohiohealth or take my healthcare elsewhere. I got appointment with someone else I'll just start new claim with different Doctor and get my healthcare records transferred.. It's just pointless pay 75.00 co pay to see a doctor who won't give me a M.R.I or katscan, or who can't change or better my condition just to come sit and talk to him pay the co payment see doctor in order to just get some important documents filled and faxed. . And a doctor isn't helping me. OSU care is way overated Dang I needed that paperwork signed. I can barely walk sometimes due to the pain and fareups. It's struggle to get out bed at times to go to work. Crawling in hallway having use stairway balcony to have pull myself up sometimes to go the bathroom, thanks alot for nothing . .furthermore they charge me 75.00 co pay Which I cannot afford. What happened to law that stated a healthcare facility couldn't deny healthcare due to no insurance or non payment. Last time I went their they said if I didn't have the co pay I could not see the Doctor . What a corrupt healthcare system we got it's evolves more around insurance and money than patients care and well being. I bet I'll never go to OSU healthcare facility hospital or provider again I'll die first!
I had an MRI done on my dumb Hammer toe on Friday 3/31/23' @ The OCE Dept with the most Amazing & caring techs. Sydney & Lena were not only patient with me, but they were extra nice & accommodating to whatever I needed or wanted. I can't tell you enough of how great, I feel for OSU Hospitals, Their Doctors, & all their employees in which they staff. #KudosOSUitWasAGreatExperienceAsAlwaysIsWasAtDoddHall92Too:)!
I started seeing Amy Groswald for my primary care at the Outpatient Care East center. After our first appointment, she recommended I come back for a Pap smear. So I did. She then said she was not comfortable performing the test on me due to me being on my cycle. (However according to other doctors and everything I have heard from family and friends, the test is still fine to perform. If it was something to do with the test results I would understand, but she specified it was due to her own comfort. Why be a doctor in that case...?) I had the appointment for months, and was not told of this until I was in the room with her. I took work off and planned for this appointment for months. Disappointed and will be looking for care elsewhere. Giving 3 stars due to the office being very helpful and not charging me for the visit.
This doctor needs to work on listening to patients.
Love him. He is a wonderful diagnostician and a caring man.
***ANOTHER SMG MALPRACTICE NIGHTMARE*** Don't believe the hype - Dr. Richard Nelson is ***NOT*** the thorough and competent doctor, some of these reviews would lead you to believe. Between 2008 and March 2009 Dr. Richard Nelson failed to detect and diagnosis my now deceased husband's non-small cell lung cancer. This failure to diagnosis went on for over a year, whereas my husband saw Dr. Nelson numerous times - once for an annual physical, and 4 times following for back pain. Despite my husband having had previously documented back surgery, and the great possibility that this new pain was interrelated, Dr. Nelson refused to authorize an MRI for over 7 months, and instead referred him to an SMG physical therapist and a SMG pain specialist - Dr. Rohit Oza, who put him on Oxycotin and other addictive painkillers. It wasn't until the following March 2009, when my husband stated that the pain was now radiating down to his hip, that I adamantly indicated that he needed to go back to Dr. Nelson and ***demand*** that he write a prescription for an MRI - after all, what was the point of paying exorbitant insurance premiums for, if not to get the necessary testing that was covered?!?!?!!!!! Dr. Nelson finally conceded, and agreed to authorize the MRI. Following, Dr. Nelson called to state that the MRI showed suspicious lesions that needed further evaluation / testing through a CAT scan. A few days later, while we were out celebrating our young daughter's 7th birthday, Dr. Nelson called to confirm that the diagnosis was indeed cancer, and that the disease was in an advanced stage. Throughout the next week, more tests were conducted, including a lung biopsy and a PET scan, reconfirming our worst fears - that the cancer had metastasized, and it was now at it's most serious and inoperable state - STAGE IV (4). Given this ***medical malpractice nightmare***, my husband opted to seek further treatment at Sloan Kettering in NYC, who RE-confirmed in the very first appointment, that my husband's cancer had been growing undetected - due to failure to diagnose - for at least a year prior. Despite my husband's strong will to survive he died in November 2011. There is so much more to this story, and how this ***avoidable misdiagnosis*** further impacted our lives, that will be published in due time. However, in the meantime, I can't emphasize enough that Summit Medical Group employs a high percentage of incompetent, and negligent physicians, who value their relationship with the insurance companies, and maximizing their own referral system within the practice's physician-specialty network above all else, moreso than the primary needs of the patient. As I pointed out early on, at least 7 months of proper medical care was effectively lost, because Dr. Nelson wanted to save the insurance company the cost of ***one MRI***, and instead chose to generate fees for a referral business for two of his colleagues, thus prolonging an accurate diagnosis that could have saved my husband's life. It needs to be mentioned that despite their extraordinary medical error, Summit Medical continued to bill us for these unnecessary services. I can simply state, if you value your health you should look elsewhere, than Summit Medical Group as a medical practice. They are an incompetent bunch on so many levels, and in so many varied disciplines, who do not take responsibility for their actions, and pass their negligence onto the patient in the form of billing for ***unnecessary*** and ***deadly*** services rendered. Moreover, they neither respect nor regard the Hippocratic oaths they have taken: "Practice two things in your dealings with disease: either help or do not harm the patient". My good advice to all who should read this, predicated on vast experience, is - ***stay away from Dr. Richard Nelson, and Summit Medical Group as a whole if you value your good health, your family, and your life in general***
He seems a little serious at first, however deep down, a nice person. Excellent Doctor, very thorough for someone who is not my primary to treat me as if I were his patient, I was very impressed. Would highly reccommend Dr. Nelson
Not my regular Doctor, however saw him when my Doctor was on vacation. Very thougrough and nice guy. Treated me as good as if I was his own patient. Would reccommend.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
