Everything I have been through requires a full review of Solace at Vivian’s, from intake to daily operations to the way residents are exited from the program. I entered that house after a trash‑bag eviction and a criminal‑trespass case, already in a vulnerable legal and housing reset, and I still tried to do what was asked of me: groups, appointments, Bible plan, school, and staying low‑conflict. In return, I experienced broken promises around basic maintenance (including days without hot water or a working washer), inconsistent transportation, and a living environment that felt more like a dressed‑up survival setup than the SAFE care (Safety, Accountability, Fairness, Evidence‑based) they advertise. I also saw patterns of petty control and disrespect that do not match a trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented program: color‑coded stickers on shared items, gossip, staged ‘incidents,’ and pressure to ‘just get along’ with house drama instead of real mediation. Even in my exit, there was no simple dignity. As I washed my clothes after leaving, I discovered that my towel and wash rag were missing, which may sound small in isolation but fits a larger pattern of disregard for residents’ personal property and personhood. Given my experience, I believe Solace at Vivian’s needs a thorough review by outside eyes to determine whether its practices, culture, and use of resources align with what vulnerable adults are being promised when they walk through that door.
