List of Thomas Smith's Reviews
very thorough, actually LISTENS, a rarity these days. Takes the time needed and asks questions . I am relieved to have him as my neuro. I have had nightmare neuros in the past that dont hear me, dont ask, and want to pump meds without finding out what is going on. If you want a real dr who is trying to actually help you, Dr Smith is the one.
He listened and took what I said seriously. He asked questions, he listened to and answered my questions, tested me, sometimes more than once on the same test. This is a doctor I/you can trust to find answers! Thank you Dr. Smith!
Dr. Thomas Smith has been my neurologist for 2 decades. His intelligence, attentiveness, coupled with correspondence with his patients are just a few of his most acclaimed attributes. I highly recommend him to everyone. It is to this day I’m grateful for my original referral to be seen by him from my outstanding primary physician 20 years ago.
I started with Dr Tim Smith in 1988-89. He was my Dr. for many many years, he always was cheerful, kind and took excellent care of me. I was going through some paperwork I have't looked at for almost 30 years, and ran into a very important letter of referral he wrote for me. I decided to google his name and was devastated that he had passed from an automobile accident. No words can describe the level of grief I feel as he was extremely important in my life. Rest In Peace Dr. Smith you will always be remembered.
Dear Yelp. You need to take this down. Tom is deceased. May he rest in peace. I miss him terribly.
Honest Sincere hard working. a true friend of mine sad to see him half to go.Hope you have a good recovery and are with friends who love you. Take care ole friend brad starkey
Dr. Smith was my doctor for over a decade. He was always attentive, thoughtful, able to think creatively about seemingly intractable medical problems, and find methods of treatment when I did not have insurance or resources for additional tests and work. In short, all you might ask of a general practitioner. As a trans person, finding a doc is hard, and with Dr. Smith I never had a moment's worry.Unfortunately, he got a new front desk person who demanded I redo all 10+ years of medical history, and lied to me about a refill. As soon as I said the word "lie" it was like one of those cop videos where the police keep whacking and yelling "stop resisting". Now I know why they do it: it works, and gets bystanders on your team to join the show. She basically kept yelling at me until I left the office, demanded I transcribe my whole history (as thick as Tolstoy) to the new forms before I could be seen, and she got the other receptionist on board (with the things she said, she would have gotten Christ himself on her side if you weren't in the room). I was deeply upset to lose my doctor of so many years and I had an issue end an emergency surgery over a month later -- which could have been handled far more gracefully if I'd kept my physician and been able to voice my initial complaint before ambulances got involved. While I called recently and asked for the doctor to call me back...whether the call was communicated or not, it is clear I am now PNG. It was traumatic and handled very, very badly. To spite that horrible experience, and the very real costs of it, I think Dr. Smith is a great doctor. Just be cautious at the front desk. I don't think the assistant who was so awful is still there, but I am not sure.I was deeply conflicted about posting this review. But on one hand, it simply wasn't right, and I think not saying something is far worse than just swallowing it. And on the other hand, Dr Smith is sufficiently excellent that I want to say so to _spite_ the bad experience at the end. And there are few people or professionals I'd say that about, after something like that...
I have been a patient of doctor Smith for over 11 years and I feel very great full for all he has done for me. I had lived more of my adult life in California both northern and southern before moving back to Settle. Being that I had a complicated medical history and my previous doctor in the Bay Area Richard Cazen had recommended Doctor Tom Smith to me so I went with His referral. That was the best decision I had ever made. In today world with so much change in the health care industry, he one of a kind. I could go on and on about doctor Smith, but what really I needs to express is my gratitude to this incredible man. For those of you looking for a new doctor and are new to the Ballard area, I highly recommend taking the time to make an appointment with doctor Smith. He really care and listen to your needs. I truly wouldn't be alive today without the care that I have received. Care, companion, and listen. The best care money can buy. Thanks you,David Anderson
There is NO other doctor like Thomas J. Smith. He became my doctor 8 or 9 years ago, and has never let me down. The attention he gives to each patient is so hard to describe ... But he deserves an award.
Dr. Smith continues to be an amazing physician. I wish there were more doctors like him. He partners with his patients to understand their needs and and provides appropriate guidance. He doesn't rule out (belittle) the benefits of holistic care and is open to partner with his patients when it comes to this. He has the most amazing bedside manner and truly makes you feel like an individual. After all of his years in practice, it's amazing to me his passion remains as high as it does. So many other doctors burn out and the patients are the ones that pay the consequences. This is a longer review but warranted. I highly recommend Dr. Smith for personalized and in depth care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
