List of Whitney Luke's Reviews
She’s rude. I stopped going to OSU because of how rude she was and she hurt me pretty bad physically. After my back ablation, she caused my back to be worse and it’s never been the same sense.
I took a day off work and drove 2 hours each way to see Dr. Luke on 7/27/22. She did not examine me: a student did. Dr, Luke was not in the room. The student then left to consult with Dr Luke and study my MRI. They returned. Dr. Luke talked with me briefly. She seemed interested in my case. She suggested a course of treatment, I agreed. She said treatment required insurance preapproval. I offered to pay cash to begin the treatment that day. She told me to wait 2-3 weeks for her office to get preapproval. I waited 5 weeks and heard nothing from her office. I politely messaged her on MyChart: she did not respond. After calls and MyChart messages to departments at OSU, I determined that the insurance preapproval request was not even written until 9/5. On 9/17 my insurance denied the treatment. At this writing Dr Luke has ignored requests from her staff to address the denial in any concrete way. When I call her office I am always told to call back in a few days.
I was recently referred to Dr Luke and actually made the appointment, but after thinking about it I canceled. The reason is because I saw her a couple years in the Spine Center for my back. She saw no reason why I should have pain and was kinda like why are you here. Well guess what? I saw Dr Karnes who did my third back surgery that took 10 hours. Not impressed with her. If I give no stars I would have.
This Physician was very polite as well as her intern. I was very nervous during the consultation bc I’ve had doctors injure and misdiagnose me in the past. I was overly talkative due to that nervousness. I got the impression they didn’t like me. They didn’t seem to have any help for my pain. After the consultation I read the progress notes in my MyChart. The intern who wrote had several important facts wrong. I saw this as possibly being misleading to other doctors who treat me and read this progress note in my MyChart. I called the office to express my concern over this. They did not share my concern and offered no solution. The nurse who called me (Julia) seemed perturbed at having to call me. She had no interest in my concerns. I did my best to explain that all she had to do was to read my MyChart to understand why I was calling the office. She was impatient and hung up on me. When I tried to resolve things by contacting the department that handles these situations the Director of the Spine center dismissed me from ever receiving care at that clinic again. I feel that their explanation for this decision masked the real reason. They just couldn’t handle any kind of criticism. Overall it was a bad experience for me. I think they misunderstood me and I didn’t do the best at communicating my situation. My fear of being physically hurt again was high. It’s a shame that a lot of doctors just can’t handle a patient advocating for themselves and instead choose to write the patient off. This short circuits their ability to learn anything new.
Been seeing Dr. Luke for 4 years and she has helped me go from barely walking to being able to play ice hockey again. By following her treatment plan and with her support I am back to about as normal as my body is likely to get. I love that she doesn't over prescribe meds or even the injections. Literally my favorite doctor because in many ways she saved and changed my life. THANK YOU DR LUKE!
Have seen Dr. Luke for the past 3-4 years. She does spinal injections but that’s about the extent of her scope of practice. If you’re looking for pain medication or anything other than injections, forget it. She doesn’t know how to do anything and she doesn’t even offer to direct you where to go. I wanted more of a long-term solution but she looks like a deer in headlights when you try to speak with her about anything other than injections. This center used to be more progressive but that has changed. Very disappointing that she just wants to slap a bandaid on it and send you out the door.
Excellent at procedures she performed for me: 1 SI joint injection and later 2 epidurals. No complications.
I had a procedure with Dr Luke for the first time recently. My neck became incredibly swollen and hot to the touch for days. Her advice? Can’t see me for another week, take Advil and go for the Emergency Room if I have concerns. I’m in more pain than when I started with her and I certainly can guess to take Tylenol (she does not prescribe meds). I am not going to the ER when she easily could examine me. The responses to my concerns were short and condescending. Want answers and pain management?

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
