Dr Shoemaker is probably the best doctor I had in 30 years. Not only does she know what she is talking about and extremely educated in the medical field, she is also compassionate and thorough in her diagnosis and time spent with her patients. She never makes you feel embarrassed about questions or concerns. I am so thankful for her.

Never call the office, expecting to talk to a person. This won't happen.Provider said something LIKE "I'm not comfortable prescribing an antidepressant for you until/unless you are working out at least 3 times per week." I felt she didn't think I deserved my mental health meds because I was fat. She also told me she didn't want to let me have Klonopin, but she *only would* prescribe it for me because someone else already had. When I asked for a refill of my Klonopin, I was informed she didn't want to let me have it, despite having demonstrated to her for over a decade that I can be responsible with it.It's abundantly clear that this provider thinks fat patients are stupid, based on my relationship with her over the past decade.I tried to be compliant. When I advocated for my own care and asked what were, apparently too many questionss, I was not respected. The only way to communicate with her, outside of a face to face appointment is to use her office's app to send a message. The text replies are unclear, even when asking a yes or no question. When I most recently called for help, I was formally dismissed from her practice.

Dr. Shoemaker is thorough. She cares, doesn’t rush, and gives genuine attention to your concerns. 10/10 Would recommend.

I have been seeing Dr. Shoemaker for over 20 years. She is kind, gentle, and very very knowledgeable. I am always impressed by her knowledge, and her amazing ability to explain any given situation. I would recommend her heartily to anyone who wants a kid caring physician, who listens, never makes you feel rushed, explains things very well, and is unfailingly kind and empathetic.

I’ve worked for Dr. Shoemaker for 5 years. Most of her patients talk about her big heart, her patience in the room, and her knowledge of modern day medicine. The only complaint we get is that she “runs behind on her schedule” but it is always followed by “she’s worth the wait”. She is easy to work for after you get used to matching her work ethic. That woman is always on the move when she is not in a patient room.
