He is very understanding and explains my medical issues very well. I feel he is very competent and compassionate. Didn’t rush me to have surgery, tried lesser options but made me aware that surgery will need to be done
As a medical professional I don’t write reviews but Dr.Groth deserves to be honored/recognized publicly: By far one of the most compassionate physicians I have ever met. He has done everything to save (yes save) my father’s foot. He also helped a close friend run again after breaking multiple bones and tearing ligaments on his ankle from a fall on ice. He calls his patients from home, stays late, and puts his personal life on hold for his patients and families. He wants to help you and if he can’t, he will find someone who can. If needed he will consult colleagues/friends on your case, formulate a plan, and execute it. His skills in the OR, combined with his personality, make him one of the best in his field. You don’t see this dedication often from surgeons or physicians. I don’t know what else to say except if you have foot and ankle problem this is the guy to see.
greatest i have ever been too
Dr. Groth was amazing. I have had 3 ankle surgeries, he did the 3rd one. He was personable, knowledgeable and kind from the first day I say him, on the day of surgery and post. The whole OSU staff gave my a great experience. Thank you Dr. Groth, Julie Swain, and staff!
Dr. Groth corrected Cavus foot disorder on both my feet with exceptional precision. After two surgeries, I would highly recommend him to anyone in my family that needed orthopedic surgery.
It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Groth for the first time yesterday. He is a very kind, patient and experienced physician. He was very helpful in turning around a painful foot problem. I am most appreciative of his care.
Don't listen to you. Kept dismissing everything I said. Wouldn't take my dog to him. Found a Dr. who listen to me and found the problem.
Dr. Groth took over as my orthopedic surgeon after mine retired shortly after I healed from my left foot healed and my right foot still needed surgery. He said we would do a similar procedure and it would be easy enough. The appointment felt rushed but I didn’t know better. Fast forward to four years later, he had to correct the initial surgery, then when I continued to have pain he dismissed me without watching me walk or stand on my foot. I had to find a new surgeon who had to ‘salvage’ my foot because he messed it up so badly and it will never work correctly, I am 23, I have arthritis, fused joints that shouldn’t be, severe tendinitis and peripheral neuropathy from his work. While surgery has risks I find it had to believe I just had really awful bad luck and managed to pull all the short sticks. I wouldn’t be so upset but the way he blamed me, acted like I was wasting his time and dismissed my pain when I asked for help is infuriating. Don’t ever see him please. Find another doc.
We visited Dr. Groth today. My mum had a lot of pain to her feet and difficulties to move since few days. Dr Groth was extremely professional and caring about my mum's situation. We had a fantastic experience and I am thankful Dr. Groth visited her. All the staff was very kind and willing to support; also they helped with translation from Italian into English for my mum. I would recommend him to other patience. Thank you!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
