She is so knowledgeable professional and makes you feel so comfortable

Multiple issues with scheduling and equipment. First was a laser machine broke, made me show up for an appointment that was not needed. Next was another photo machine inop. This is more of a review of the practice, not sure Dr Borkowski has any control of these issues.

I have been a patient since 2011. My left retina detached in 2011, and actually a different doctor at her practice did the surgery as Dr. Borkowski was leaving on vacation. But a few years later, my right retina detached and she performed the surgery, not once, but two more times, as it just kept detaching. It would not accept a gas bubble. I had to do a silicone oil bubble, which was actually put in by Dr. Patel, who is amazing as well. But a year later, when Dr. Borkowski removed the silicone, the retina detached again and now I have another silicone oil bubble in there. I see her every six months to make sure all is well, and has left it up to me whether I want the oil taken out. It's been 3 years, and I am tired of blurry vision in one eye, but I don't want to go through more detachments, and she understands and agrees. She is a very skilled physician and I trust her decisions.

In my case I found the chairside manner lacking for compassion. None of my medical complants or symptoms were considered or listened to at all. A new diagnosis and referral lead me here. I was scared but hopeful. Left a very bad taste in my mouth. When you look around the waiting room of a Retina specialist you see a lot of silver haired clients many with caregivers and drivers providing transportation and such. I am middle age still working and needing to drive myself. Was having difficulty seeing driving lanes and did need to start using Lyft and family to provide help with transportation.Made it clear that I was having trouble doing my job at work and driving and was brushed aside. Had to visit Optometrist that referred me for new eyeglass prescription and vision acuity test that I assumed could have been perform3d there. Acuity test at Optometrist showed vision was still poor. Front office staff not very helpful as well. Was never ever able to log into patient portal after asking them for assistance several times. I have no doubt they are highly skilled nut this is my experience. Makes me sad.

She told me exactly what I needed to do and when it could be done. Pulled no punches and told me what I needed to know. Refreshing. No beating around the bush. Procedures have been excellent and just as advertised.

Borkowski was late by an hour getting to me while dilated in the exam chair. Had to be redilated. Told her I was not happy about how long it took, (past closing) to see me, and when I went back a few months later to have the procedure done, she had put notes in my file that she refused to have me as a patient. Ditto! She had zero apology for being so late. Dr Patel, same office, did a great job. Quick and efficient. Vision is great. Maybe she just had a bad day, but she didn't relate well at all

I would recommend Dr. Borkowski to anyone. She is very personable and knows her stuff!

To begin with, she was condescending and arrogant. I went in for an exam and she recommended laser surgery. She said she could do it right then, but when I asked a few basic questions about the procedure she became rude and arrogant that I was "questioning" her. Mind you, I didn't go into the office that day expecting to get laser surgery so was deciding on the spur of the moment if I should get the procedure. I decided to proceed in spite of her rude demeanor. Unknown to me until later, she scratched my eye during procedure. I was not informed that this might happen or what to do if it did. My eye was numbed during the procedure so I didn't feel the scratch until after I got home. I was sent home with no instructions or any sort of information. The office staff were quite nice, but my experience with Dr. Borkowski was bad from beginning to end.
