Rude client assistance every time I call literally acts as though everyone is beneath them. I will be finding a new family physician! Until Covid happened I have never owed a bill I always paid in full the day of service. Covid hit I was off work so I charged 1 visit! I started a new job and called to see what I owed and was told I had no balance on record. I never received a bill either. I was recently laid off and in the last couple weeks my whole household has been sick. I use a rescue inhaler for emergency purposes only but when I went to get mine filled all my refills were gone them same for my other scripts on record. The pharmacy called Dr Bowlus office but they refused to fill my scripts. I called and left a message but never received a call back. Finally I get through and by this time I feel horrible just want to be able to breathe and feel better. However, I'm told that they won't do anything for me because of an outstanding balance, they have sent me 3 notices that have gone unanswered and the office manager flagged my file with a note to not allow me any service until I am paid in full. I asked how much I owed, $200, I'm being denied my medication that I had refills for but magically were deleted from the pharmacy because I owe $200! I had called to pay anything owed while I was working but was told I didn't owe anything and now I owe $200 and am being denied medical care and prescriptions. I explained how I am currently laid off, I have insurance but it's in the between state of cobra processing and I just need my meds. I was told they don't know what to tell me, it's too bad about my situation but they shouldn't even be talking to me because I OWE $200! Are you F'n serious! In the mean time I have been called back to work, can't breathe, can't get meds to even get better and now Dr. Bowlus office won't answer the phone! This isnt the first time his office staff has been beyond unhelpful, rude and quite ridiculous. I know if I stay with them it won't be the last either. I could see if I had a track record of owing and not paying however they obviously didnt even bother to change my address last time since I haven't received a bill, they haven't called me either but they are more than glad to deny service! 🤔😒😤🤬 I thought Dr. Prime responsibility is to care. I'm very disappointed and almost hurt that my life matters so little to someone that I've paid for quite a few years. So much for "Family" physician more like physician for the highest bidder! Dr. James Bowlus has been my family physician for over 40 years. I don't know what I would do without Dr. Bowlus ~ He has always put my well being as top priority. Unfortunately over the last few years I have had numerous illnesses and physical problems ~ some unexplainable ~ but he was always there for me helping and when necessary referred me to specialists. Dr. Bowlus is knowledgeable, always listens to what I have to say and cares extremely about his patients. Dr. Bowlus is a top notch family physician!! Have been with Dr. Bowlus since Day 1 when he opened his office in Elida...maybe 40 years. Very caring and concerned about his patients.

Dr. Bowlus is a very good doctor. He is very kind and thorough. His office staff on the other hand, are abysmal. Rude, condescending - even when the mistakes are theirs. They treat you like an idiot. Even when you try to explain yourself, they are high-handed and discourteous. The waiting time for appointments is laughable. Totally unacceptable. If you don't mind dealing with the staff, the doctor is good. I am just used to more courteous personnel.

Dr. Bowlus is a wonderful doctor. He spends time with you to understand your problems. He is very caring.

dr. bowlus is a one of a kind doctor. he spends time to listen and also to diagnose the problem. dr. bowlus reminds me of the way old fashioned country doctors, he does not just spend ten minutes with you write your script and send you out the door. he observes and gets to know you. I totally like him and trust his judgement. thank you for all that you do and endure for all of us.

He is absolutely wonderful. He cares about his patients.

2-3 hours wait is typical

I will never come back to this office again because BJ Bowlus was so rude! Not only was she rude to me i hear her on the phone with either other patients or someone and she is just as rude if not even more rude.

BJ Bowlus is sooo rude makes me never even want to step foot in the door, and all i did was talk to her on the phone.
