Cynthia Leung's Online Review Report Card

I overheard a really awkward conversation with Cynthia while my friend took her child into urgent care. Her son had shortness of breath today after about 2 weeks of not getting over a cold. After examining the 8 yo chest, the doctor suggested that he continue taking an inhaler. When my friend asked why she didn't check her son for any illnesses, she mentioned it was because her son said his ears did not hurt, so she had no reason to check for an ear infection. My friend mentioned to her she was making her feel uncomfortable and she felt like she wasnt getting fair medical treatment and that the doctor was not listening, Cynthia admitted that she does have implicit bias for people that come in and ask for antibiotics, my friend did not ask for any specific medications, but rather a comprehensive examination for underlying medical issues that her son had a medical history of. I would not recommend Cynthia to my family or anyone that wants fair treatment or an appointment free of racial bias.

I have used multiple times <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fzocdoc.com&amp;s=f51cbfd9aa1296caab16875b7ff2eead4d196f08e4eac920ec6e1725431fe1cc" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">zocdoc.com</a> website to schedule an appointment with other doctors and never had an issue. Also, they won't take any phone calls. We don't have any option to know what is happening with schedule. Most of the time it is getting canceled at the last minute.

Since February 18th, we have attempted to contact this office to schedule an appointment. Office staff scheduled zoom appt without confirming with my spouse. Unfortunately, technical issues were the cause of an unsuccessful appointment including failed communication from office staff. I have left four messages over four weeks including a website inquiry, to date, not even an acknowledged phone call or email. Understand the many many challenges of COVID, however, not even an acknowledged call or email of my inquiry is unacceptable. I then went back to my primary who contacted this office to inquire about their silence , and was told this office staff blamed me for a failed appointment,!?!?? Again, I left four voice mails during their business hours and an email, to date- nothing from this staff. NOTHING.

I've seen Dr. Leung 2x, well, once actually because the 2nd time - after waiting for 45 minutes (just like the first time, too!) - I got up and left because I have a job and meetings and like to be respectful of people's time. Her staff at the Redwood is just awful to boot. Rude and incompetent.

One of the best GI doctors in Bay Area. She is very knowledgeable and knows what's best for her patients. Highly highly recommend her.

I am one of those Technology Execs who is very attentive to details, effectiveness, results and customer satisfaction...I have found Dr. Leung to be truly outstanding in every way....I recently had a procedure done with her and it exceeded my expectations...I experienced no discomfort nor pain in any way and her approcah was most caring and sensitive...thank-you Dr. Leung!!!

All I wanted was to know if I could see the doctor within the next week, and was put on hold for over 10 minutes. Called back again as I figured I must have been forgotten, only to hear a "Hello, please hold" and then back to another 17 minutes on hold. Called back a 3rd time, and said "I've been on hold for almost 30 minutes now, can you please just answer my question and let me know if she has anything available." She explained that she was the only front desk person and it ended up being that I couldn't get an appt. anyway. I shouldn't be put on hold for 30 minutes just to see if an appt. is a possibility. I could have used that time to call other doctors and get treatment sooner. Tip to the doctor: Hire additional staff as you clearly need it.

Reading all the other reviews, i think i might have gone to the wrong place (but the name and address match, so i feel it is safe to write here). My experience after consulting Dr. Leung is definitely, definitely not 5, or even close to that. She did come across as a warm, likeable person (she might know her subject very well too. Might). But to me, i feel i did not get any insightful input from her. From the time i met her, i do not feel my condition has improved 1 bit. Not 1 bit. So, maybe it is my bad luck or i did not need a Gastroenterologist to begin with - but Dr. Leung did not tell me that i did not need her. I was promptly charged for the services, and my condition has not improved 1 bit.

I can't say enough good things about this place but I will sum it up. Excellence, humble, knowledgeable, and the best bedside manners I have encountered. I am currently in the process of trying to figure out some tummy issues and I could not have been more blessed to find Dr. Leung. She knew just what to say and do to make me feel at ease. I had to bring my one year old with me and she was incredible with my son while explaining everything to me. I highly recommend her! I also want to say that Jennifer (her front desk staff) was beyond incredible as well. She helped carry my stuff out and just made the whole experience wonderful. I praise God for these folks.
