Galion Hospital's Online Review Report Card

Given the choice, go somewhere else besides Avita.  Lots of turn-over with doctors.  Some of the specialists only come to the hospital once every few weeks.  A few of the doctors I have seen must have graduated at the bottom of their med school classes since they struggle to answer basic questions.The billing department repeatedly messes up statements.  There have been times that I've paid my co-pay in advance and they don't credit my account even when I present my receipt.I have been to both the Galion and Ontario Avita hospitals and they are both terrible.  I find the nurses to be very unfriendly, rushed and don't seem to care about the patients.  Some of the doctors are extremely rude.  But not to worry because they will have left Avita by the next time you return.

Horrible hospital and system. They refuse to take insurance and then try to sue for their overcharged/duplicate bills and overpriced medications. Not exactly what one would call “honest”. Multiple FLDCA and HIPAA violations. Stay away.

Bring a sleeping bag and tent been here 5 hrs and still not seen

Too many issues. if going to er, take a suitcase because youll be there a long long time. Minimum of 3 hours.

I went in with a broken hip through the emergency room was overmedicated it was bad very bad

Had a biopsy done this morning; the doctor and whole team were outstanding. It couldn't have went better. Thank you all.I appreciate being in and out quickly as well! A+

We really felt like the P.A. Rob Wisner was not understanding of our concerns with my husband's health that recently cared for by UH Ashland before coming to Avita due to change in insurance coverage. However, he did feel that it was appropriate to share his health history with Ashland University, and later my husband and I, as a learning opportunity to Ashland University students which happens to be my husband's alma Mata. Too many issues in 3 visits (one of them being a zoom visit)to elaborate on. Truly a sad situation

I was hospitalized here for a month or so due to covid ammonia. Those who truly helped me thank you I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you guys.I experienced issues mostly with the night shift. Medications that I needed were overlapsed a few times causing some truly painful nights. Conflict with orders and being woken up by an awkward male nurse trying to put ekg on me that I no longer needed.I didn't have access to the bathroom getting around in a weak-end state I couldn't do much. My room was tiny barely enough room for everything. I sat in it for weeks with no window. Prison could of been more acomidating.I did sit in this tiny windowless room for 4 or so hours calling every 15-30m asking if they were going to assist me as I had Accidentally knocked over a very full toilet commode.As I healed I wasn't allowed visitor's till I was cleared. Last week and half my wife was allowed to visit. I spent allot of time alone.

I have been using this hospital since the day they opened their doors. I’ve always received excellent care with the blessed angels that grace that hospital. I don’t know where you found such amazing compassionate staff & doctors but I’ll never go anywhere else. From the front door to the back I’ve never met anyone with such kindness & professionalism. They treat you like royalty. I found it amazing that I always receive a call to check on me. That’s so comforting. I am truly blessed to have found a hospital that truly cares. That’s rare these days. Ontario & Galion are truly one of a kind in exceptional care. Thank you for the love.

This hospital has taken great care of my grandparents. The nurses and other staff are caring and professional. I try to always schedule our appointments at the Galion location.
