Love Dr. Pakan! He is knowledgeable and explains what the issues are. My reason for the 4 stars is because I had to sit for 45+ minutes waiting to see him and I had an earlier appointment

My experience with Dr Pakan was all extremely positive. Very informative at appointment. Went over X-ray in detail. Answered many questions. Staff was informative and replied quickly to my calls. Total knee replacement by mako robotic technique went very well. His care in the hospital was great. He stopped by every day as did is resident to check on me. Rehab going well. At six weeks out I have a 122 degree bend and 0 degree flat. A five star experience.

Dr. Pakan has been our orthopedic surgeon for our whole family-all 7 of us! He has done surgery on our (combined) feet, knees, hands and shoulder. In addition he has treated our family for tennis elbow, golfers elbow and carpal tunnel. He has a great bedside manner and recognizes the source of all our pains. He is friendly and thorough. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Pakan was pleasant to talk to. His staff was also. He showed us my hip xrays I brought from Dr Blanda. He didn't. give much info,,or elaborated He didn't have access to other medical info via computer his Sec'y said. He didn't mention how total hip surgery could affect me regarding my lumbar back, scoliosis. He did say he could fix my congenital hip dysphasia & help arthritis pain with total hip replacement. His sec'y, tho new shementioned was not efficient in communicating with us.

Had simple arthroscopic knee surgery. Failed to take me off my meds that stimulates clot formation. Didn't give me anything post-op to prevent clotting. Ended up in the hospital for over a week with 12 lung clots! Called his office twice during my stay in the hospital, but never got a call back. Doesn't follow the Hippocratic oath~ "Do no harm"....."That warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife". Uncaring.

I had a partial knee replacement done by Dr. Pakan in 2015. About a month later I developed an infection & had to be hospitalized to treat it. Pain & swelling never really went away. Had a few follow up appointments & voiced my concerns about constant pain. He assured me that healing takes time & I needed to be patient. Was still having horrible pain 11 months later. Both components he used in the partial replacement were loose. Had to have a total replacement done because of a failed attempt.

Dr. Pakan did a knee replacement for me in 2013. It was a little rough at first, and I needed to have an additional surgery to clean up the scar tissue I had to allow my knee to rehab to fully function. I did everything he recommended and have had success. Knee is working great, functions better and no pain unlike before the surgery. Highly recommend Dr. Pakan. Very caring, knowledgeable, completely explained all my options and questions.
