I have been a patient of Dr Dan O'Reilly's for many years. He is kind and knowledgeable. He is very personable and professional. His staff is wonderful also.
Dr. Dan is a wonderful doctor and person !! HOWEVER.....his staff is DISCOURTEOUS, INCORRIGIBLE AND JUST PLAIN IGNORANT !!!!! I have been a patient for years and can’t fathom leaving his practice. BUT.....if after I inform doctor and nothing can be rectified — I’ll HAVE TO !!!!! (If so, hopefully with a referral from doctor NOT STAFF) Biggest problem is Dr. Dan says one thing and staff OVERRIDES it to the patient !! ( causing patient GREAT FRUSTRATION ). They make it IMPOSSIBLE to even make an appointment. And then, unbelievably, they go ahead and make one without patient knowledge !!!!! I called and requested an URGENT prescription at 9:04am on Monday morning AND it’s now Thursday afternoon. At my last visit doctor said he would have a new prescription called in immediately. SO.....what’s the problem ?? I’m suffering more and more by the hour. ALL my other doctors, and/or staff would have had it available same day. BEWARE to all who seek attention from this office !!!!!!!!!!
Dr. O'Reilly is one of the best physicians I have come across in a long time! He is extremely clear in reviewing your situation, presenting your treatment options, explaining ongoing treatment and expectations!! The staff members behind the primary check-in desk are terrific!! Front desk needs a little training in patient meet and greet. However, we are here for our health and well being. You cannot make a mistake in being treated here!!
My husband was referred by his new Primary doctor for a colonoscopy. We scheduled his appointment at least 4 months in advance. 08/13/2018. We received a letter last week saying as a “courtesy” our appointment was being rescheduled to 08/20/2018. As a courtesy? To who because it sure as heck isn’t us! My husband does not have the luxury of taking days off work. We planned this appointment the week of our vacation, do the appointment on Monday, leave for vacation on Tuesday. So everything for us
I am sure Dr. O'Reilly is a good doctor. However, his staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. They do not treat the patients well on the phone or in person. This happened several times. This starts with 2 receptionists and Michelle the medical assistant. The tone used by Michelle should never ever be used in a professional environment. She repeatedly raised her voice and was condescending. There is a very bad culture in this office. We will not use this practice again.
dr o'reilly performed a routine procedure on a hemorrhoid and I have been in pain and discomfort for over two weeks with very little help from the doctor. At present his office is ignoring my phone calls for follow up. I have been off work for two weeks and now my trip to Italy is in jeopardy because of this pain and extreme discomfort I recently called to see the doctor as I feel I am not healing properly since I saw him a week and a half ago with no response from the office. one visit to ER
Excellent doctor/patient relationship. Spends a good deal of time with the patient to correctly diagnose and prepare a treatment plan.
I called the office to ask Dr O'Reilly a question and expected the nurse to call me back with the answer but instead, Dr Dan got on the phone and to talk to me!! He has a GREAT bedside manner and makes you feel at ease. We need more Dr's like him!!
Highly recommended. We had a good outcome as a result of all the above.
Have had issues with Laryngitis for 9 months and have been to one gastro guy before him, 2 ENTs, have had and EGD done (not by Dr. O'Reilly), and 3 scopes at ENTs offices. My colleagues suggested I see him and he worked with my speech therapist to figure out what they felt the problem was. He finally suggested I go to a University Hospital for a certain test; a 48 hour Bravo line study which measures the acid levels in your stomach. I saw a physician at Rush Hospital who performed an EGD for stomach biopsies, and he found a large hiatle hernia and my stomach was is too high and that I need surgery to correct this. The Bravo study is still underway currently, and I will wait to see biopsy results, but at least I feel I can get my severe acid reflux under control and then with help from the speech therapist, I can work to get my voice back. Unfortunately the first EGD doc I saw didn't find this and I lost alot of precious time, and had to spend HUNDREDS of dollars out of pocket unnecessarily.I am planning on having Dr. O'Reilly do this surgery since he comes highly recommended by all my colleagues at the hospital. I just had to figure out the problem first, and he helped me do that.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
