Dr. Sawyer offered no information, had to have family doing packing changes, had to ask them to contact visiting nurses and then got nasty when after four weeks questioned about alternative treatments or going somewhere else. Had to go to ER and have emergency surgery to fix all the problems caused by Dr. Sawyer. New surgeon professionally said she missed things during surgery.

My mom saw Dr Sawyer for a breast lump. It was biopsied and showed a very aggressive breast cancer. She made an appointment for my mom to remove the lump and biopsy some lymph nodes. I had asked mom if Dr Sawyer had consulted an oncologist to work along side her due to the severity of this cancer. She did not. I asked my mom the plan after Dr Sawyer removed the lump, she said Dr Sawyer said she could find an oncologist after the pathology was completed. As a healthcare professional I had major issues w this. As a general surgeon you do not cut open an aggressive tumor and check local lymph nodes without having an oncologist on board also. Thankfully mom cancelled her surgery w Dr Sawyer and we went the the James. We were seen by a surgeon, oncologist, pharmacist, and dietician. Her first appointment was six hours long. Due to the aggressiveness of this cancer we have limited options for treatment. Had Dr Sawyer removed her tumor that would have removed one of our treatment options.

Family member has received mediocre care. Most recently, g-tube cath procedure scheduled only to be cancelled after 3 hours in pre-op because her office supplied the incorrect size tube. No apology. Just complacency...which seems to be the only consistency provided. Family members g-tube is their life line and only means of nutrition. We will be finding a new doctor. Too many chances have been given.

She might be a good surgeon But would not return calls? She's the one who done the surgery not her receptionist and I need answers about my surgery?

Dr. Sawyer is excellent. Knowledgeable intelligent and caring.

Best medical experience to date. Quick, to the point and does a great job.

She performed my cancer surgery and I couldn't asked for a more copetent doctor. I still see her 2 to 3 times a year and she continues to be attentive And most helpful with my medical situation. I would recommend her to those looking for an excellent surgeon with a quiet manner. Thank you Dr Sawyer

Dr Saywer helped me chose the right path for me and my family. After confirming what we already thought she expedited the process. The surgery went just as expected and explained. A wonderful Dr with something rarley seen in a surgeon (a great bedside manner). Thanks for everything Dr Saywer. Also to your nursing staff at FMC floor 2 med surgery. WOW. you your all so awesome, I couldnt have been taken better care of if I were on vacation at an all inclusive resort. You guy ROCK!!

A family member was in the ER two days in a row with a g tube issue (Dr Sawyer had done the insertion). This family member was sent home without being seen (and an 8 hour wait) based on "tests". Back in the er the next day only to be sent home AGAIN without being seen until I became involved. I believe she reluctantly agreed to see this patient and then realized she should have done so the day before. Gastric Acid was oozing out from around the tube severely burning the skin, ultimately resulting in a visit to the wound clinic the following week. The result - a patient in severe pain for days only because the "tests" showed nothing wrong. Sometimes a visual assessment is required. Nursing staff should have demanded it.
