He saved my life. I'd never had surgery before and I was petrified. His bedside manner is excellent and put me at ease. He listens and does thorough examines. Very attentive and very clear with instructions. His entire staff for my follow up visits were very professional, respectful, knowledgeable and they cared. He knows his stuff. Excellent physician.
Do not trust this surgeon. Had an emergency appendectomy and had to wait over 24 hours for surgery. My appendix ruptured and he lied about it. I was sent home 24 hours post op and within 12 hours at home became extremely ill. My care was transfered to another doctor in another hospital system and I had multiple follow up appts, CT scans and booodwork to monitor for abscesses. I was extremely ill and they classified me as septic. I have had long term complications-trouble eating, nausea, hair loss, and joint pain. This was a horrible and traumatizing experience. I felt scared and that no one cared what happened to me in the hospital. No one should have to go through this. I hope my story helps someone.
Dr. Schilling performed bi-lateral inguinal robotic hernia repairs on me 3/1/21. I experienced 0 pain post op! He took plenty of time to explain the procedure and assuaged all my concerns. Also the pre-op and OR medical staff at Christ Hospital couldn’t have been more professional or caring. Couldn’t have had a better experience or outcome. Kudos to Dr. Schilling and Christ Hospital!
Had emergency appendectomy. Doctor was professional, personable, efficient, and came highly recommended.
Went in for emergency appendectomy- he was the physician on call and I could not have been any happier with him. Phenomenal bedside manner and excellent surgeon. Feel very lucky to have fallen into his hands.
Dr Schilling told my family my mom needed intestinal blockage surgery, we were trying to avoid surgery, he convinced us there was no other option, told my family he was performing the surgery , said he removed the blockage and the surgery went well, only to find out UC Residents were taking care of my mom and blockage wasn't removed until a week after surgery she was given an enema, that took cake of the blockage. I would not recommend Dr Schilling, I believe he lied to my family just so the Residents could gain the experience.needed for the surgery I specifically asked beforehand are there any other options, didn't want to put my 82-year-old mother through surgery, he flat out told us surgery, I believe she was used for educational gain only
I had my gallbladder removed last yearby Dr Schilling. I wish I would have got more options because it has been horrible experience. My life has not been the same. It has taken over a year to get my body back into sync. My bowels are now relying on mirlax to have a movement and I cannot eat many foods I used to enjoy... and they are not fatty foods just normal healthy foods. I was and still am a very clean eating person so I don’t really understand why my gallbladder was removed . I didn’t have stones or sludge, I should have got another opinion. His office is nice and he is nice and does spend time talking about reasons to have it out he convinced me to have the surgery because of all the things that COULD happen if I didn’t. I cannot put it back all I can do is move forward with my life. I have never had any health issues but this has definitely put me in a tale spin. So make sure you do you do diligence before you agree, he told me we function fine without a gallbladder we don’t really need it to live .... but your life will be very different it was for me. I have spoken to a few other people that have had the surgery and they were told the same thing.. you can live normal life w/o it If it is not a life or death situationlook at other options. I wish I would have .
Had gallbladder surgery and have had issues for 4+ months.. scheduled another appointment and they called 2 days before and canceled my appointment. Said dr in surgery all day?? Thought surgeries were scheduled months in advance ..? Ask if he had appointment for Monday no he is out of town . He just wanted to have weekend off so that’s why my appointment was canceled. I really needed to be seen , so I am moving on to another surgeon to take care of my needs. No I would not recommend
Should be more prompt on initial first visit....30 mins late. Dr. was engaging, and pleasant. I felt that my comments and concerns were listened to and addressed. I felt comfortable with his level of knowledge and confidence. Totally comfortable with the surgery and outcome thus far---3 days out. Recommend Dr. Schilling for abdominal surgery.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
