List of Eva A. Szathmary's Reviews
Tells me the white on my tongue isnt white and tells me it isnt bacteria when a test comes back positive for bacteria.....I'm going to die.
I have had several appointments with Dr. Szathmary with regards to managing chronic inflammation with intravenous antibiotics. During each encounter, I found her to be brusque without sitting down to listen to her patient’s needs. She did not provide explanations and was extremely intimidating with her “We do this my way or else” attitude. She said will not coordinate with other doctors and will spew out ultimatums without consideration for patient wishes or desires. I will never be back for her services again. Thoroughly disappointing!
Dr. Szathmary is truly one of a kind! She is a genuine amazing dr and person I am so thankful for her and the staff at ID middleburgh...
She has a brisk, unfriendly and harsh bedside manner. She dismissed obvious symptoms and did not agree with previous doctor's diagnosis of Lyme. Refused to continue antibiotics despite ongoing symptoms and multiple tests showing active Lyme infection. She repeatedly lost test results. She ordered bloodwork for me, and her disorganized office staff lost those results - TWICE. She spent all of 30 seconds skimming over 12 pages of test results before misdiagnosing me with something completely different (and wrong!). When the tests showed something different than what she had expected, she turfed me as a patient, said she couldn't do anything else to help, and told me I should go find another doctor to get second opinion. The wonderful specialist I saw after her correctly diagnosed and treated me, and when I told him that I had seen Dr. Szathmary and what she had diagnosed me with, he rolled his eyes and said "that's not surprising." I would RUN, not walk away from this "doctor."
She told me the infection in my prosthetic knee was gone and discontinued my antibiotic treatment. Two weeks later I had to be rushed to the E.R. because the knee was still infected and the prosthetic knee had to be removed.Because of her misdiagnoses,I have been confined to a wheelchair for over a month, and am facing another surgery at the beginning of next month. Also, her”bedside manner” is cold and uncaring.
She speaks with you yelling on the phone!
Waited over 2 1/2 weeks for urine results called every day and always the same excuse she is out of the office, then the office staff said she talked to me when she didn't.
The lung issue was one of the toughest I, was up against. I, had no idea how serious the problem was till after the confusion about kidney problems, which I, didn't have. Dr. Eva Szathmary, Dr. Joseph Lahorran, and, another surgeon did the clean up of six hours to my lung. Even though, this experience wasn't an easy matter for me to understand, she made sure I, understood what must be followed aftermath. I, was never a smoker, it has been 4 years since that day. Dr. Szathmary's, an excellent lung specialist. Dr. Stephen Schnell, was the referring physician
Dr. Szathmary is very nice. However the office is unorganized. Waited for results for 3 weeks to find out they didn't even label them. So I have to do blood work AGAIN. Frustrating because I tried to get a hold of her 3 different times and they said she was out of the office. Then out to lunch. Then a meeting. All different days. Won't be returning.
Great doctor very friendly very passionate about what she does. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a good doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
