List of Shirley L. Bennett's Reviews
Shirley Bennett is a really super nice Dr.
She’s been in the practice for A WHILE, she oversaw my mom’s pregnancies with my brother and I, and I’ve trusted her through to years for my own health. However, appointments are RUSHED, she seems to only see you as a name- I’ve had issues with birth control/hormonal imbalances in the past, she never remembers what works and what hasn’t worked. It’s very frustrating when a doctor tries to prescribe you a contraception that your body doesn’t react well to time and time again. I am now pregnant and in my third trimester, I’ve relayed concerns from my mother to the doctor that my mother went through and Dr. Bennett brushes the concerns off time and time again. I have also had rapid weight gain due to water weight and she has made snide comments about my weight, without asking me what I’m actually doing, how my nutrition is, and how active I have been staying. Very discouraging as a first time mom and I am now switching doctors. My husband was appalled at how she has treated me and confirmed my worries.
I had a LEEP procedure done, and Dr Bennett didn't let the numbing take/add more that I needed and instead said "Let's just get this done" while I literally screamed. Regular visits were short and rough.
I am in my third trimester with my first child and I just switched doctors to stop seeing Dr. Bennett. She is cold and her bedside manner is terrible. I wish I would have taken the reviews about how terrible her bedside manner is more serious as I left appointments feeling worse than when I came in. I am almost through my pregnancy and have gained 30 lbs and she has made me feel absolutely awful about that. When she told me I was a little anemic & I needed to add more iron to my diet I mentioned I had been drinking homemade smoothies with spinach to try and keep up with that & her response was "Wow, how many calories do you think are in that smoothie?" I've never been an overweight person and was actually underweight when I got pregnant. She made me feel as though I was already failing as a mom. I felt rushed through all of my appointments & most of them lasted 5 minutes or less. As a first-time mom I was hoping to have a doctor that would talk me through what I should be feeling/expecting and I got none of that with her. She also never asks how I am feeling or if I have any concerns I need to talk about because she is so busy rushing you out of there. Don't expect to get an update on your test results either, I've always had to seek that information out. I would not recommend Dr. Bennett if you're looking for someone who cares about their patients & takes the time to make you feel prepared and informed.
Been going to this Dr. for years for routine exams. What I have been disappointed in is that when a real medical conversation is needed, such as an abnormal pap or mammogram or the need to immediately cease a medication, it is not Dr. Bennett who has these conversations, I’ve received calls from the office staff to receive this news and on two very specific instances, I was given negative news by Morgan who is neither equipped to answer my questions nor is she well trained in human relations or delivering that type of news.

Front desk staff and "office manager' were very rude. I switched providers after dealing with the rude behavior too many times.
Dr. Bennett truly cares for her patients. I've even asked her questions beyond typical GYN issues and she is very supportive. She's super smart, a great listener and asks questions to get to the bottom (no pun intended) of my health concerns. She also delivered my daughter over 20 years ago. Highly recommend.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
