Do not pick this doctor to care for you I had over 15 surgeries and still after all I have had done I have a gaping hole in my eardrum. My sinues are a total mess and of course when I tried to make a appointment after I had a 2nd opinion Dr Hetrick tucked his tale and wouldn't schedule any further appointments. This doctor is unskilled and is only out to make money do not trust him with your hearing and don't trust him with your children's he has Lso left my daughter in shambles and now seeking to find her a new ENT cause he also left her ears in a total mess

My child has been seen by Dr. Hetrick and his staff since birth. They have given nothing but incredible care, with promptness and thoroughness.

He has seen & treated my daughter for 7 years. He is phenomenal & we wouldn’t have anyone else to care for her!!

He is A very good Doctor I would recommend him to anyone, I trust him completely & he has done 2 surgeries on me one was 8/24/21. He is the most caring and the most intelligent doctor around, he is Patient listens to you & he explains things well. Professional & A great doctor..........

Dr. Christopher Hetrick, DO preformed sinus surgery on me, he is very patient, kind, professional and caring, I trust him completely and would recommend him to anyone, my experience with him is very positive and he's a great doctor.

Dr. Hetrick was extremely fast in diagnosing and treating what was missed in a minute clinic. Within one day of taking the antibiotics he prescribed, I was feeling so much better. We are very lucky to have him in our community.

I would highly advise you do NOT have surgery done by Dr. Hetrick here in Mount Vernon. I recently had a tonsillectomy at 22 years old. I was, as you can imagine, in quite a bit of pain, however, being a Registered Nurse myself I was rather prepared for a difficult recovery. What I wasn't prepared for was being prescribed both antibiotics and painkillers in pill form, mind you, some of the largest pills I have ever taken on top of that. I was given a "personal cell number" from Dr. Hetrick to contact in the short term after my surgery. Seeing that I was so swollen I couldn't speak and CERTAINLY couldn't swallow these enourmous pills, my mother attempted to contact him for me asking for a liquid painkiller (which most tonsillectomy patients are given). He did not respond for almost 8 hours and when he did he simply said "she'll have to force herself to take them". My mother explained to him that the issue was not that I did not WANT to take the pills (although I really didn't appreciate the pain), the problem was that I was actually physically not ABLE to take the pills after multiple attempts but his response did not change. My mother eventually had to crush the pills with a coffee cup and dissolve them in water so that I could ingest them (and yes they tasted like poison). As if this additional struggle to my difficult recovery wasn't enough, I once again reached out for help a few days later when I developed a case of thrush (oral yeast infection from inadequate diet, antibiotic therapy and inadequate oral hygiene due to the pain, a pretty common side effect of tonsillectomies). I was told by the receptionist that the "doctor will take at least 48 hours to return this call". She did not seem particularly rushed or concerned despite explaining to her that my tongue was swollen and felt like it was on fire. No surprise I didn't get that call back for almost 72 hours and when I did I was told the doctor "highly doubts" I have thrush and I should not "google my symptoms". After explaining for the sixth or seventh time that I am an RN and did not, in fact, google my symptoms, I took my slightly offended, miserable self to another doctor who prescribed a therapy for the thrush. I've called in 5 or 6 times over the course of 3 almost 4 weeks now to get a note for work and each time I'm told "the doctor will get back with you". Needless to say the experience of having a tonsillectomy is not pleasant, especially as an adult. Do yourself a favor and do not make the experience a total nightmare by choosing a surgeon who will not only ignore you and downplay your pain but will actually increase your struggle in recovery. As a healthcare professional myself I cannot imagine treating a patient this way, although I suppose it was too much to expect some basic human dignity and concern from the man. Trust me, in both my personal and professional opinion, it is worth the drive to find a doctor who cares.
