I saw Dr. Knipe at a very dark time in my life when I desperately needed help. In order to see her, I had to leave a therapist I loved and work with a psychologist she worked with. Going to see her felt like seeing a parole officer partially because I used to smoke marijuana and she has a strong, seemingly irrational aversion to its benefits. I was careful with my medications, communicated honestly, and yet I always felt on edge and dreaded going to see her. She has a strong clinical detachment that makes her seem uncaring. When I needed help and had made an initial appointment, my scheduled appointment with her was pushed back twice- once from a clerical scheduling error and again when the psychologist she demanded I see (whom she worked with) failed to file some assessment paperwork then went on vacation. I was regularly asked to submit to urinalysis testing (which I never failed). For as knowledgeable as she seems, she is one of the most toxic, unfriendly doctors I have ever met.
