IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, OR BIPOLAR, DR. STOKES IS NOT FOR YOU!!! I know these reviews are purely opinion-based and taken with a dose of salt, as they should be, but if I can spare just one person from what I went through I will feel better. I switched to Doctor Stokes because I had used and trusted the Community Healthcare network in the past and his office is located less than a mile from my home. My first visit was to treat an ear infection, but I made it clear in that visit that my primary long0term concern was my chronic depression and the medication I took for it.My second visit was specifically to explain to him that I didn't think the medication I was taking was right for me and that my depression symptoms were ramping up to extremes I'd never experienced before. I specifically asked for a psychiatrist recommendation because I knew something was very wrong and wanted to see a specialist. Doctor Stokes then proceeded to explain to me the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist (which I already knew) and sent me on my way without a recommendation for either.Shortly after, I had a major episode that almost hospitalized me and got my placed in an Intensive Outpatient Program with Summa Mental Health. When they pulled my records, Doctor Stokes had put a FOOTNOTE at the bottom of it saying "May have mild depression."Please, please, do not go to Doctor Stokes for anything mental healthy related. The only good thing that came from his care was the chain of events that led me to physicians that actually wanted to listen to my concerns and help me.
Do not go to Doctor Stokes if you struggle with mental health. I had told him twice that my chronic depression was an issue for me and that I didn't think the medication I was taking was helping because I noticed an steady increase in worsening symptoms. Eventually, I asked him if he could recommend a psychiatrist for me because I wanted to see a specialist. Doctor Stokes then proceeded to explain to me what a psychologist is vs a psychiatrist (something I already knew) and then sent me on my way with a recommendation for neither. Shortly after, I had an incident that almost hospitalized me and had to be enrolled in an Intensive Outpatient Program with Summa Mental Health. When they pulled my records, the only notation that Doctor Stokes had written about my depression was at the very bottom and said, "My have mild depression."
One of my sons recently aged out of the pediatrics office…and his Dr recommended this group. Today is our first day here but we were greeted promptly and with a smile! Impressed so far. Thank you!
Our family have been patients of this office for 20 years. Dr. Stokes primarily, but also the CNPs, too. Dr. Stokes and this office have donated their time to give free physicals to 100 Norton area youth for a very long time and they never say no. They work for pizza and pop before their shift and never say no.In general we have been happy with Norton Family Practice CHCI and appreciate the access to the digital system to send messages right to the care givers — response is very speedy. Like that better than phone messages.
I am very frustrated and will not be going back here. Dr Stokes is nice but I had an x ray done over a week ago. He said he would call me with the results. I called the office twice last week and was told the results were in and the doctor would call but so far I have not heard nothing from him. It would be nice to find out my test results
He’s a a really good with his patients and takes time to listen
They're close and they can refill my regular meds. Doctor is nice enough. The staff however will treat you like an imposition to their day, and attempt to speed through any interaction with you, interrupting and sighing the entire time.
The doctors and the staff do not work together to be helpful to you, its like they work for different offices. I will be finding a new doctor
I understand that everyone has their own experience, but ours was very disheartening. Myself and my husband have 3 children. I work full time and attend school full time, and he is in the military often gone for days or weeks at a time for training. It is difficult at times to juggle things. We had two separate issues with Dr. Stokes. The first were the comments made to us. We are a mixed couple and chose him as the doctor for our newborn. There are two that I can remember distinctly. We were were talking about her sleeping habits, and he began explaining things that may help then stated "Rap is not good for them to sleep". Without actually hearing it in the context it was said, it sounds much less insulting. The other came when were discussing a rash she had on her leg that I was able to get rid of. I did explain I tried to look on google to make sure I didn't over react (bad idea, but I believe that is common). He did not respond, and then returned with her six month shots. He then stated in a sarcastic condescending tone "Don't worry, I looked up on google how to give shots". The other issue is the fact that with our schedule we do have trouble keeping track of everything. Over 7 months we did have to reschedule six times following a missed appointment. We never received reminder calls. We received a letter saying we had to pay 300 to be seen as punishment, which was paid. We then received a letter stating that our daughter was dismissed.. Not only did we feel uncomfortable at our appointments, but we felt treated badly due to reasons known to us. At no time were we disrespectful or intentionally difficult. We are also having trouble receiving our records. We filed out the paperwork, and there seems to be no concern about us being able to obtain another doctor. The fist year is critical so to us this is important.I hope that anyone who attends has a better experience than us, but thought should be placed when considering it. He seems to be ruled by his opinion of his patients, and that opinion is not formed from interactions but rather assumptions. This is not something we have encountered before this.
Never had a problem with wait times or service. Everyone there is pleasant and if Dr. Stokes doesn't know how to do heart surgery, for example, he'll tell you that he'll watch a few YouTube videos and he'll be right back.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
