List of Thomas A. Olexa's Reviews
I had some finger problems that I exasperated by being stupid. I told the office person about one that was crooked and that the other middle finger was constantly clicking out of place. She said “he can’t see you for more than one thing. Quickly realizing that I was dealing with a COVID era employee I disregarded. When seeing Dr olexa I was impressed with his patience and manner. He quickly diagnosed, presented probable course of action, and even gave me a shot for trigger finger before I left that very day.It was very uplifting to be treated by a doctor that had common sense and that an extra office visit charge wasn’t his main agenda.Highly recommend
In June 2019 I had a very serious break of my femur. Dr. Olexa placed a rod in my femur, secured pieces of bone, got me moving again. He originally told me I would be off work for 6-8 months. Due to his excellent care, and the rehab at Firelands Regional Medical Center I was back to work in 3 1/2 months.
Thank You Dr. OLEXA and the Team you had in 2018. Replaced Rotar cuff tear and cleaned out the bone in shoulder. Very informative, very helpful, courteus, and thanks to Dr. Tom, I can now throw a football. Havent been able to do that since I was 15, then Heavy Highway Construction for 25 years. RECOMENDED.
Had went to Firelands ER on Thursday Sept 9th, excrutiating pain left ankle could not walk, ER Docs (2) stated after X Ray fractured left top ankle where tibia meets with ankle. Follow up 9 days later with Dr Alexia. He comes in and talks to me in very uncaring and snooty manner ( speaking down to me) stating I don t have a fracture. Then goes on to tell me bout my ankles very differant but doesn t need surgery and alot of arthritis he says stay off it ice, elevate, come bck in 2 wks and I can inject couartizone. Said my ankle would need Fusion eventually..My wife And I eere simply perplexed how this Drs bedside manner was and how he seemed uncaring and it was no big deal.Needless to say I called a REAL Orthepedist at the Cleveland Clinic where I had my knees replaced and am going to see him in early Oct. I HIGHLY DONOT RECC THIS DR ALEXIA at all.
I don’t know who was worse- the doctor or his aid. They both treated my injury like it was no big deal and had horrible bed side manner. I felt like I was a bother for the whopping 10 minutes I was there. They didn’t take the time to perform new xrays or even bother to look at my injury up close. I was told there was nothing they could do and to tough it out basically. They put the same splint that the hospital put on me but without any dressing underneath of it. When the nurse was trying to set it she pressed directly on my broken bone sending my pain level through the roof. When I brought it to her attention she ignored me and it was until I basically yelled that she stopped pressing on it. Went and got a second opinion 2 days later and was informed I needed surgery right away if I wanted my injury to heal properly.
He does not listen to his patients. I broke my arm. He said I didn't need surgery. 6 weeks later I was still telling him something was not right with my shoulder. He kept saying it was sore muscles and physical therapy would work it out. 2 months later the Cleveland Clinic had to do surgery due to having a displaced tendon. Now I am starting all over - not able to move my arm and have to start therapy all over again. Then he started walking out of the room while I will still talking to him
Told him repeatedly my arm did not seem to be healing correctly. He told me it was fine and sent me to physical therapy anyway and said that would work out the sore muscles. two months later the Cleveland Clinic his having to do surgery due to a displaced tendon.
Was seen by Dr. OLEXA in the E.R. he popped my hip back into socket. Did a very good job
I was very impressed with Dr. Olexa and the staff. Dr. Olexa repaired my hip and was always available to answer my many questions.
Dr. Olexa was rude and condescending. The ER doctor showed me the hairline fracture. Dr. Olexa said it was a sprain and to start working and bending it. I got another opinion. New doctor showed me in two different xrays the fracture and told me to wear a boot and use crutches until I get rechecked in a month. Dr. Olexa acted as if I didn't need surgery I wasn't worth his time. I will never go back to him!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
