List of Chacko Alappatt's Reviews
I have seen Dr. Alappatt several times. On my first few visits, he seemed kind and caring. He took time examining me but didn't offer much information on what was wrong with me. On one of my last visits, he gave me a new pain medicine to try. It didn't work for me. On the last visit, he didn't have any changes in treatment for me. He wanted me to continue taking the pain medicine that didn't work for me. I see no reason to go back if he can't help me. Also, I had to wait about 45 minutes for my last visit and had a brief 10-minute exam.
I had been receiving treatment from this office for four years. After receiving and confirming my appointment. I drove there today in the rain after having major surgery one month ago and dealing with cancer. They preceded to tell me they no longer take my insurance. No phone call, no letter in the mail in the 3 months since I've been there. Now i will have to wait possible five months or longer to see another rheumatologist with no medication. Thanks a lot and I will make sure I tell everyone including the medical society.
Dr Alappatt and his assistants are fine doctors. However their office Continues to bill me for small amounts. All my other doctors except what the insurance company pays plus my co-pay and that’s it. I find it hard to believe that a successful practice such as this would continue to bill me for such a minimal amount. They just say the treatment cost more than the insurance company pays
Before I was a patient at this practice I suffered a lot, to the point of being bed-ridden. After I started treatment, along with that the care, compassion, knowledge, and listening to what I was trying to explain, I feel amazing again.
I've been seeing Dr Alappatt for nearly a decade. He is very knowledgeable about how my diagnosis affects nearly every part of my body in ways I wouldn't have ever believed were caused by my Psoriatic Arthritis. Every visit with him is very thorough and he takes extensive notes making me believe he is very concerned about my health and longterm outcome.
There is nothing I would recommend about this office. Office staff is rude, doctor and NP make you wait 45 minutes in the exam room and then rush through the appointment. Dismissing all pain and joint issues is common. Medicines are changed frequently and they appear to be unsure of exactly how to address autoimmune issues. After (10) years of dealing with these diseases, I can easily say there are very few Rheumatologists in Dayton who have any idea what they are doing. One of the best left town. Do yourself a favor and go to a specialty clinic.
If we could give negative stars, this is one office that deserves them. My wife was seen in the office and diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, it was never explained to her how this would effect her body. She was instantly pushed onto a medication, that she had a pretty severe side effect and it took THREE weeks to get a call back and she was told by Sherry who was very rude to keep pushing through. We finally got an appointment to see the doctor again, he switched her medication and when we asked about side effects from this medication he got his computer and walked out of the room. Never told us that the appointment was over, just walked out. This medication was even more dangerous to my wife given her past medical history and family history. We will not be back! I know there has to be a better Rheumatologist out there.
The absolute worst Dr. I have ever seen, As a new patient he did not check my weight or my blood pressure. I was only there there 10 minutes and got charged $450 what a rip off!!! I would not recommend this doctor to anyone
I was referred by my family physician and I had an appointment within 48 hours of leaving my family doctor. The office staff were kind and caring, the office manager was able to get me qualified for financial assistance to afford my medication and talked with me on my best options for the future. This practice truly cares about their patients.
Absolutely wonderful physician !!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
