List of Chris Cottrell Md's Reviews
I had a laparoscopic repair done by Dr. Cottrell, for an inguinal hernia. Surgery went fairly well and while recovery was painful, it seemed normal. Cut to 3 months later, I wake up with my one of my testicles, same side as hernia, backwards or leaning the wrong way. There is a constant dull ache, accompanied by a pulsing cramp in it. I called to schedule a follow-up and was given an appointment a week out. I finally make it to my appointment and Dr. Cottrell is confused on why I am even there. I have no clue why my notes to nurse didn’t get provided to him. I explain my issue and he tells me to drop my pants. He takes a quick look and touches my testicles and makes me cough. He tells me to ignore it and move on. He tells me nothing needs to be done. Confused, I said, but there is a pain accompanying it, it’s not just a cosmetic issue. He says, if it is still like that in 3 months, come back in. I have to sit here with a constant pain/ache, and just deal with it? The whole point of getting my surgery was to get away from pain. Now, not only am I in pain again, but my right testicle looks absolutely ridiculous. I really wish I would have delved deeper into asking about their work with correcting post-surgery complications. I am currently speaking to a second opinion service offered through my company. I cannot believe that just deal with it is the only option. It is absolutely unacceptable. Dr. Cottrell was friendly as can be before surgery, now he’s acting like I am a bother. If you don’t have any complications, I’m sure he’s a great surgeon. If you do, good luck. I’ve been dealing with this for close to a month at this point.
I have had trouble with reflux, spasms, and with food sticking for years! Dr. Chris Cottrell was recommended for my problems. Any time he ran a little late, he apologized as he is a very busy doctor. I had robotic surgery performed by Dr. Cotrell. Not only did he repair my large hiatal hernia but, he moved my stomach over to where it belonged since it was not in the right place. I don't know how long I have had a displaced stomach but, I knew I had a large hiatal hernia. Since the surgery performed about 3 months ago, I have had NO reflux at all. I can now eat what I want, when I want without any problems!! I am grateful to Dr. Cotrell for his expertise and wonderful bedside manner! Thank you Dr. Cotrell!!
He charged $450 for an office visit in which he did absolutely nothing. He has a god-like ego and only cares about MONEY! He never called me back and I would have died waiting for him to care about my health. Just to think I was referred to him by Dr. Weinstein. I wouldn’t send my dog to this man.
I went to my GP with Gall Bladder pain, since an MRI had shown that I did have stones, my GP recommended that I have the Bladder removed. I was given a list of surgeons and DR Conttrell was one of the doctors. I reviewed each on line and picked Dr. Conttell. He was very open and discussed the procedure as well as answered questions. The surgery was accomplished robotically and I was back home in about 4 hours. Other then a little soreness I am doing fine.
I had a problem for a long time with eating. I would get these attacks like I was choking but I wasn't. It felt like it was sitting on my chest. It would get so bad, I would throw up. It was not a lot of food but mucus. When the portions of food would come up, it would help and eventually go away. I had this problem for so long that eventually after tests, it was determine to be a hiatal hernia. I was referred to Dr. Cottrell. After he looked over my medical charts, he had me scheduled for surgery. One month afer surgery, I can't tell you how good it is to eat and not be afraid. Dr. Cottrell knew immediately what to do. He is the best doctor I ever had to help me through a difficult problem that I didn't believe would ever get resolved. I thank him for everything.
He was so nice. I called several times late at night and on the weekend and he never seemed annoyed with me or bothered by my calls. He did a great job and I'm planning on going back to him for another surgery later this year.
I had Hiatal Hernia surgery 5 weeks ago. Dr. Cottrell told me what he was going to do and how he would do it. Before surgery I was in a lot of pain and couldn't eat anything without feeling like I was having a heart attack. After surgery I am pain free and feel great. The hardest part of the surgery is being on a really strict diet. But after the second week that really wasn't even a problem. I highly recommend Dr. Cottrell if you need Hiatal Hernia surgery.
I had a hietal hernia repair surgery by Dr Chris Cottrell. It was a large hernia he was fantastic.I recommend him to anyone...Awesome Dr.
Had emergency colon surgery which Dr. Cottrell performed simply because he was on duty when I arrived in the ER. I am glad he was there. I was in hospital 2 weeks. Dr. Cottrell spent a lot of time answering questions and explaining what had happened, what he did and what he expected for the very near term. He showed a lot of compassion. I have no hesitancy recommending him.
I am 3 months post op for. Hiatal hernia repair as well as the tiff procedure to prevent acid reflux. I am completely off Nexium after taking it daily for almost 20 years and Prevacid for years previously. Dr. Cotrell has changed my life. He took the time to explain the fairly new procedure and really was interested in my recovery. The few weeks after was the worst because of diet restrictions but after that hill was climbed I am great. I would highly recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
