I have had several colonoscopies over the years, both performed by Dr. Shaheen. The office staff is pleasant, the nurses , anesthetist and Dr Shaheen were all very nice, reassuring, and professional, and I received a follow-up call the next day to see how I was doing. For something that I was very reluctant to do, they made the experience as easy as possible.

I had a colonoscopy yesterday from Dr. Shaheen. He and his staff were so kind and supportive. I chose to stay awake during the procedure. His wonderful anesthesiologist held my hand while his nurse offered words of encouragement. It turned out to be a fascinating experience for me. I had been worried and putting this off for years for no reason. A polyp was found so it was a good thing I didn’t let this go on any longer. I would encourage anyone afraid to have the procedure (with or without anesthesia!) to have it done right away. And have it done by this wonderful man and his staff! It could save your life. Believe me, these people make it so easy. They’re the best!

my daughter has suffered with severe gastrointestinal issues for many years, she is only in her 30's. Based on reviews she chose Dr. Shaheen who recommended an endoscopy, which she agreed to. We were anxious to know the results and what he recommended after the procedure. Weeks later there was zero follow up after the procedure. My daughter had to call the office only to be treated very rudely by his nurse. She was not helpful and was irritated by her questions. This is obviously not unacceptable, hence we will find a gastro doctor who cares about the patient & takes pride in what they do. Very disappointed by this experience.

For years I’d had GI problems Dr Shaheen ordered a Thyroid level on me and I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Since that has been treated, my GI symptoms have corrected. Dr Shaheen and staff are very caring and listen intently about my concerns. I never felt rushed with him. I highly recommend him

Very personable. Made me feel comfortable about an uncomfortable subject. Concerned about other conditions not related to GI. Not because it would necessarily have an impact on his exam, but because he genuinely cares. Best physician I have dealt with in a long time. Highest recommendation.

Dr. Shaheen was the the only doctor who figured out I had celiac disease. I had been to several gi doctors through the years and they all blew me off saying it was IBS. Their misdiagnosis led the undiagnosed celiac to get worse (causing anemia, weight loss, vomiting, constant nausea, extreme diarrhea, and so forth). I can't thank Dr. Shaheen enough for taking the time to listen and figure out what was wrong with me for 8 years leading to my diagnosis. He also did thorough follow-ups.

Dr. Shaheen more or less saved my life through his treatment recommendations. I had been living with severe Crohn's disease for years before seeing him. His treatment regimen not only got me off of Remicade but got me to finally achieve remission after 16 years of battling my condition.

Dr. Shaheen is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! He found that I have Crohns Disease, when NO other Drs could find anything as I layed in the hospital for a total of 13 days
