Audley Mackel's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Mackel is a great ortho physician. He explains everything to you and has had great surgical outcomes from everyone that know.

Dr. Mackel III is patient, kind, cares about his patients. Professional, well dressed, overall great surgeon. I would highly recommend him if your looking for a orthopedic surgeon.

My visit with Dr. Mackel was a very positive event. It was my first visit with him, and I was so impressed as to how much time he spent with me reviewing my records, asking questions, and examining my knees. I've had a TKR in one knee , and have been struggling with it for over a year, and now I'm having issues with my other knee. He examined both knees and gave me some answers as to why he thinks I'm having issues with surgical knee, and what his thoughts are on the other knee. I feel very confident in his diagnoses, and recommendations. I never once felt rushed, as he answered all my questions, as well as any questions my husband had. I look forward to following up with Dr. Mackel. His staff at the Warrensville Hts. office were also very pleasant and helpful.

Dr mackel is excellent his bedside manner is also excellent he truly cares and is concerned about his patients.. he makes time in between time when it is needed I had experienced many doctors before my hip replacement with Dr mackel... It's been almost 2 years since my hip replacement and everything has been fantastic.. if you want someone who truly cares and will not tell you you need surgery when you don't who's honest and Frank and empathetic then you need Dr mackel he's awesome he has a sense of humor and it makes all the difference in the world...... Great physician and staff

Terrible bed side manner. Antiquated equipment. The exam table is hard to get on, it doesn't even lift or lower. Dr Mackel has no empathy. Zero empathy. They don't even change the tissue paper on the exam table between patients. Gross.

Very thorough. Very patient, and down to earth. He explained my condition in terms I could understand. I also know several patients of Dr. Mackel's who referred me to him. They all absolutely love him. I definitely trust this guy to cut me open and anticipate my quality of life to increase after surgery.

Reception staff was somewhat short, bordering on abrasive. Last appointment, I was seen in what I would consider an exam/storage room. Doc was over 2 hours late, never even offered an apology for his tardiness. He rather tried to blame me, saying 'if you want to be seen on I suggest you schedule your appointments 1st thing in the morning or immediately after lunch. (Appointment was scheduled for 11am) I would call this poor bedside manner at least. He may be knowledgeable but he comes across as so much better than anybody else.

Dr. Mackel is very professional, detailed,and concerned about providing high quality care. His recommendations and treatment plan have provided great outcomes for me.

Dr. Mackel was recommended by the ER staff at South Pointe hospital for an Achilles rupture. This is a slow injury to heal, but having just started a new, travelling job at the time, it was imperative that I get mobile as fast as possible. Dr. Mackel listened carefully during our initial visit and factored in my concerns and needs. After surgery, he designed an agressive recovery schedule starting PT in the 4th week post op, by the 8th week I was off crutches and at 10 weeks out of the boot. Throughout the process, Dr. Mackel and his staff were excellent. He maintains a busy schedule, so on some occasions there was a wait, but for most visits I was out within the hour of the appointment. I highly recommend Dr. Mackel.
