Great doctor and staff

Great doc, explains things in terms you understand and has a great personality. Been my doctor for 11 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Doctor Hess is outstanding. He has treated by family for more than a decade and we find him to be thoughtful and thorough -- and highly successful at solving whatever orthopedic issues we have faced. I would strongly recommend him.

I cannot say enough bad things about this guy. He was my doctor about 10 years ago and it was not a good experience. We'd been going along for a few months when we we're discussing what he saw as my need to try and exercise my knees more. I told him I a was as active as my pain would allow but there came a point when my pain dictated I stop. Without a word he closed the binder he had on me and walked out of the exam room. I sat there a few minutes not sure what just happened till I noticed his office was just down the hall. I walked there and he was sitting at his desk playing at being busy. I asked if we were done and all he said was "Yep!"I started seeing another doctor in the practice but at the time, I had a disability case in process and when I requested, then received his notes on my case there were a number of lies in the notes. The most notable was that according to him, there was nothing wrong with me even though he was treating me and even gave me a couple of Synvisc injections (about 1k each) along with several cortisone shots in each knee.At that point I wrote a letter to the board at Wellington about his conduct and if you think cops are the only ones who close ranks to protect one another let me tell ya, so do doctors. A few weeks after sending my letter I received a certified letter from the the board of Wellington Ortho telling me to never return to their practice. They didn't have to tell me twice! This is an organization that attempts to appear caring and compassionate but if you unwittingly make one of their vested partners angry and complain about it you'll get shown the door. I never did figure out why Hess got mad at me that day but it was an eye opening experience.I haven't forgotten you Ronald Hess even though you most likely have me.

Dr. Hess never took the time to show me my scans or x-rays, he always was in a rush, gave me a cortisone shot without explaining thoroughly why he was doing that and never took the time to explain to me why I was having horrible knee pain. He told me I have arthritis in my knees, I am only 22 years old! He told me I needed surgery to shave down the cartilage in my knee so I booked the surgery, but decided to get a second opinion with another knee surgeon. That surgeon took the time to show my my scans, x-rays, and explain to me exactly what my pain was, that I have a lot of cartilage so there is no way I have arthritis and he recommended physical therapy before any type of surgery. He said if I had let Dr. Hess shave down my knee cartilage I would be getting a knee replacement at 55 not 75! Now it has been 6 weeks later with physical therapy and I have no knee pain at all, and to think Dr. Hess was going to cut into my knee and shave down my cartilage when physical therapy fixed my pain?! Dr. Hess is not conservative in his approach to treating patients at all and I am so glad that I didn't let him cut into my knee and ruin it. I would highly recommend seeing a different doctor if you have knee pain.

Dr. Hess is a doctor who cares for you and your outcome! He has a great bedside manner.

Quick to order tests, which is great. Spends zero time explaining results and quick to diminish current PT that isnt in his building. Literally said I shouldnt be doing "old lady water aerobics" that are helping. Was quick to demand I start pt at his place and expected me there everyday. He didnt bother to ask if I could afford the $40 every day or to ask if I could travel the hour and a half drive each way. The staff is amazing and seemed equally annoyed at his behavior. Very dismissive of pain and issues caused by it. Reminds me of the jocks in high school who look down on everyone who isnt them.

Dr. Hess Is the best doctor I’ve ever seen. He shows genuine concern for your medical problem and relates to you on a level you can understand. He treat you with respect and not a $sign. And, his work is excellent. No problems at all after five surgeries.
