If she would simply listen to the patient.....as the patient knows their body best she would be a good dr. But she seems like the degree went to her head instead.

I have seen Dr Kern two times. The plan was to find a primary care doctor after relocating from another state. After two visits, I have determined that I will not see Dr Kern again as on both occasions I have been made to feel ashamed of my chronic condition and the medication that it requires. If Dr Kern would bother to take a reasonable medical history or even take the time to talk through my issues things might be different. But she doesn't. She handed me a stack of referrals and told me that she didn't care what my chronic condition was like, that she would only ever prescribe what she felt should be required to manage my pain, and that she would only manage controlled substance prescriptions for 90 days. Then I am cut off. So I must be an addict, right? Quite the contrary. All controlled substances I am prescribed have been monitored by medical professionals every 30 days for the past 3+ years, one of which is for adult adhd and the doctor had never heard of. But I shouldn't have to defend my pain or injury, or have to advocate for myself like a politician because this doctor thinks she knows better. I know my body best and I need a doctor who is interested in the same goal as me: living the healthiest, highest quality life possible given my situation. Dr Kern, you're fired!

Dr. Kern has a great bedside manner. She took her time with me and had a very gentle hand, especially after I told her I was afraid of needles. She actually walked me through what she was doing since I could not see behind my leg, she of course asked me first if I wanted to know what she was doing. I would go to her anytime!

The only downside was that when I called in for a new prescription for a condition I've had before, I had to come in. She makes a lot of referrals rather than taking something on herself. Good to see a specialist, but not very convenient. She does give you names and numbers for people in your plan. She listens.

Dr. Kern is very easy to speak to, knowledgeable and was aggressive in dealing with what brought me to the office. She spends plenty of time with you to explain or answer questions and discuss what is currently going on. Highly recommend!! P.S......great staff as well!!

She's good but not on time. Anything that might relate to another doctor (acne, headaches) she'll refer you to a specialist and doesn't want to touch that area. You have to come in for everything, even though you've had problmes before and she's given you meds, no refills.
