Been doctoring there for longer than I remember. Couldn't imagine having to find another office.

Have been going to this doctor for over 30 years. The last few times tried to get an appointment with him got the run around, they cancelled several appointments on me etc..finally put me with a nurse practitioner. So, I called for my yearly appointment and they told me that he didn't want to my doctor anymore. It appears from the website for Wilmington Medical that he isn't even in that office anymore. They only list 3 doctors and nurse practitioners. Horrible to not send patients out a letter explaining that and for the office staff to be telling people that kind of thing and trying to get them to make appointments with other doctors in the office without the full truth. Regardless, the office staff has been rude and incompetent for many years, and I am finding a new doctor somewhere else.

I have went to Wilmington Medical since Dr.Yantes opened it. Matter of fact he bought me into this world. So I have to be Dr. Merlin's first patient. When calling to make an appointment you can not get into seeing him for several weeks. After being told by his office staff you may want to change doctors. Will bring 67 years old and being with him for more than 30 years my wife and I did what his office staff suggested. We left Wilmington Medical and got a new doctor. Come down to the main issue it's all do to poor customer service.

Honestly I had loved Dr. Merling for my prenatal care but the moment I went to the hospital to give birth he was absolutely awful and inappropriate. As soon as I was admitted he wanted to break my waters. I said that I'd like to wait and see what happens, if it would happen naturally on it's own and his response was "my dinner is getting cold". He also made incredibly inappropriate comments about the fact that I hadn't shaved or had my toenails done?! At our first postnatal appointment he made sure to tell me all the ways that my baby was going to die with my parenting choices and I immediately switched providers to a different office, different town. Also want to add that I've talked to other mothers who have also gotten and heard inappropriate comments from Merling. 0/10 do not recommend.

Dr. Merling has been my doctor for 15 years! he has delivered all of my babies at which he did an amazing job at and he still takes care of me and them to this day!! I wouldn't trust anyone else. I have no idea what I'm going to do when he finally retires 😭
