List of Scott Tofil's Reviews
Excellent doctor- he listens and laughs with you ! Yes, strict if you don’t listen to him and the girls in the office at Boardman were rude but since he moved downtown much better! Loved that he is downtown- when I was hospitalized he was right over in ER and he was right there every morning by 5 am to check on me .
Dr Tofil gets angry if you consult other doctors for their opinion. I want. Him to know that I wasn’t checking his work. Prior to my last scheduled. visit I held the opinion that he was a very good doctor-efficient and very thorough. But then I came to my appt. and was treated in a very rude manner by one of his staff and it appeared to be done with Dr. Tofil’s approval. It was an appt. That I really needed but the person typing up my admission refused to let me talk to or see the Dr. She said my appt. Was scheduled one half hour earlier than the text I had been sent. That is the second call that I had to dispute because I was told that I had missed my appt. I am convinced now that because my case is a little more complicated than usual the Dr. no longer wants me as a patient. I’m feeling this way because when they do permit me to see the doctor I am usually made to wait at least two hours to see him sometimes more, which is not fair because the person I saw at the window today actually stated that other patients usually only wait one hour. I will try to find another doctor but I want an explanation why I have been treated this way. I was a hospital patient earlier in the month and I chose to see another specialist. for my lung condition. It is my belief that patient acceptance should never be competitive and unprofessional behavior should not be tolerated. Dr. Tofil on more than three occasions I waited longer than two hours for you to see me. It would have been gracious of you if I had really been late and I am sure I wasn’t, to see me because I am on oxygen as I was the last time you saw me and the long wait for you caused me to run out before you came into the room to see me. Thank you very much!
I have seen Dr Tofil for several years, at first he was personable and appeared genuinely concerned regarding health, this is when I only came in when sick or needed a physical for my employer, etc. When in earlier this year I came to him concerned about lumps in my arm he ordered labs and an xray to rule out one thing he thought it might be. When he said it all came back "fine" without any further concern about why the lumps were there, I sought a second opinion. Turns out I have a moderate to severe disease. When he found out I went for a second opinion (had to follow up with him to be referred to specialists for disease) he turned unfriendly and was short with me, he continued (despite my diagnosis) to assure me I was "probably fine" and that I was simply out of breathe because I was overweight (I recently gave birth!) again, dispite the diagnosis of the disease in my lungs. When I persisted and explained I want to make sure we don't miss anything, (since he dismissed my initial signs of disease so quickly), and asked for an explanation of this disease, and what implications it will have on my daily life, he got very rude and told me "maybe I need to find a new doctor." I discussed this behavior edith other clinicians and they are simply in disbelief a Doctor would act in this manner! I was very upset as I have this rare disease and was given no explanation what so ever. If you want a 2+ hour wait each and every time, a doctor who brushes off your problems, and ignores symptoms of potentially serious diseases, and a rude office staff, he is your man!
I have been going to Dr Tofil for 18 years. I have always been treated with kindness. He is very caring and is always concerned about me. Very intelligent and goes the extra mile to make sure things are right. I recommend him to all of my family and friends.
I would not recommend him to anyone who wants to have their health taken seriously. I have been diagnosed with a rare disease only because I sought out a surgeon to take biopsies on my own. This doctor who I've gone to for years completely blew off obvious signs of disease, when he found out I sought a second opinion he became rude and told me "maybe I should get a new dr." Totally a quack, also wait time is 2+hours every time, last time I was there 3.5hours! The receptionists are rude and when I asked to speak to the other lady because I had 2 specific questions the young girl answering phones hung up on me! Which I reported to the southwoods director since they just merged. Don't waste your time with this place!
Great doctor! Great service!
My mother sees Dr. Tofil and she adores him.
He was an asshole too my client ... Was rude n rusher her when she still had concerns with her health I would never recommend him too anyone ... I was nice for my client but he is a complete ass n rude too her ...
Poor listener, office staff is hostile and talk rudely about patients in front of them / in earshot of them on the phone. Dr tofil seems to think every problem is due to overweight/ sleep apnea. This guy should not be a practicing doctor in my professional opinion.
Well... he’s technically A doctor. Its abundantly clear how much attention he paid (read - none) in school. His limited knowledge is extremely dated and hyperfocused on BMI, even for patients with low body fat. Picks and chooses which aspects of your health he wants to address - not the ones you came in for. Doesn’t seem to keep up to date with... well, anything. Wouldn’t want my loved ones seeing this provider. Does NOT accept telehealth visits (although his office is equipped to do them) because he can’t figure them out

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
