List of Mark Edward Dickson's Reviews
Dr Dickson performed fistula surgery on me in August 2018. One month later I was admitted to TMC ICU due to infection/septic. As a result I was hospitalized for 4 months and developed pressure sores on my heels. Upon returning to Dr Dickson in February he checked on fistula (he inserted a tube during 2018 surgery and indicated it would come out on its own). During my March visit I pointed out that another fistula opening appeared. He did nothing during the visit stated there was nothing else he could do for me and released me from service. NOTE: I still had tubes in my back. I would NOT refer Dr Dickson to anyone.
Very good Doctor and great Nursing Staff.
This guy is a butcher, does not follow up after major surgery. I lost half my pancreas due to the poor care provided.
Dr. Dickson did a good job on my surgery but his bedside manner is awful. He was contacted about my emergency surgery at approximately 3:35 am and did not show up at the hospital until 9:00 to do my surgery which at that time he informed me one surgery would be in front of my emergency surgery, that was until my fever spiked to 104.4 and my appendix burst then finally I was consider an emergency for him and was taken back to the OR immediately
Absolutely not!
from the first time i met dr.dickson he made me feel comfortable , considering i had just been told from my pcp that i had colon cancer..he explained the procedure (colectomy) all risks and everything in between...we scheduled surgery for the next week.. surgery went just as explained, numerous follow ups while in the hospital, after discharge i have seen dr dickison 3 times and all is well..i hope and pray i never have to deal with colon cancer again..i have another ct scan in dec. so we will see..if i did need another surgery i would not hesitate to use his svc. /expertise ...thank you dr. dickson
Dr Dickson repaired a botcher hernia surgery in 1998. In 2015 I had gall bladder surgery and shortly after another hernia. I contacted Dr. Dickson because I was so pleased with the initial surgery. I was informed that he could have performed my gall bladder surgery and wish I had used him. His office is friendly and personal. My post surgery was significantly better because the anesthesia did not cause nausea which my gall bladder surgery did. The service i used seemed overly commercial.
Dr Dixon has operated twice on myself, with excellent results. Dr. Dixon's staff is friendly and experts at what they do.
Hernia is now worse than before surgery performed by Dr. Mark Dickson. Very-very painful recovery, seemed to show no concern about the pain, oozing of wounds, just made excuses to protect himself and his ego when I discussed this with him. I now have purple-pink large scarring in the area which look like I was gun shot. Surgery was at a hospital he and a few other Doctors apparently own and in my opinion is run like a surgery meat market. I have never seen a hospital rushing you out as fast as they possibly can when you come out of anesthesia as I was in this place. Horrible. Now not convinced I needed this surgery in the first place and was sent home with out needed items to reduce pain such as a abdominal binder and proper instruction. Worst overall experience I have ever had with a physician. I do not recommend this Doctor or his hospital Heritage Park Surgical Hospital. I will never again use this man.
Dr Dickson was fantastic, the staff was just super, very helpful and friendly. Dr Dickson did a great job of following up as well. I am very pleased!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
