List of Ryan W. Schafer's Reviews
Been with him for several years and absolutely enjoy seeing him and his top notch nurses. It kinda feels like family.
He took the best of care for my dad and he is really a nice guy he takes time to listen and be patient with my mom I really appreciate all he did and does for my family thank you dr schafer.
Dr. Schafer cut my parents off their pain meds last April 2020 because their pill count was low . They are picking and choosing who they want. It's not right. The secretary and the office manager were very rude. My parents have yet to find another Dr. Does anyone know any good pain management Drs in Ardmore? They have been so depressed they never even want to leave the house.
Was treating me and my hubby for pain management as well as primary care. Thought everything was fine until we got a letter 2 weeks after our last visit stating he was releasing us because hubby flunked 5 drug test in a row. If he had mentioned it my hubby would have said he thought break threw meds only had to be taken if needed. That's not the problem because it took almost 3months for hobby to find a new dr. It about killed him. He was in so much pain lost weigt.
Dr. Schafer was my pain doctor. As a pain patient, I had signed a contract that outlined my responsibilities and his. He dismissed me as a patient in violation of this contract. He dismissed me because I did not have enough clonazepam in my system. This was prescribed and monitored by my psychiatrist. This was not a pain medication. His contract specified that he would manage medications prescribed by Dr. Schafer only. He did not mention a problem during the previous four negative results in five months. I wrote two letters, and the other prescribing doctor also wrote a letter to Dr. Schafer. He did not reply to any of the letters.
Very rude hateful staff, the head of the front office is mean and belittle and dismissive and plays gatekeeper with everyone’s applications and paperwork , if she doesn’t like you she has her ways of making sure you don’t get your appointment , this plac is a racket they will sit there and laugh and smirk at people with serious conditions who are in pain and it’s just sickening... word is spreading about this horrible office and here they treat their patients terribly
Excellent he listens to me and always considers referrals to specialist. Helps you figure out what’s wrong, who & where is best for his patients if it is out of his realm. He understands everyone is not the same.
Most caring and thoughtful and most thorough vist I have had in the state of Oklahoma
A prospective patient must jump through so many hoops that a person of low income or social standing will not be able to do it on their own. Then after jumping through the hoops, the doctor gets to decide if you're good enough to be his patient. Again, these are discriminatory practices giving the Doctor the ability to weed out those he does not like.
New receptionist is rudest person i ever met. I had shockingly rude experience on my appointment. Then my sister receptionist remained just as rude and hateful. Was told it did not happen by office manager. So she Ask for records due just not putting up with rudeness told be ready wednesday, when spoke office manager lied and said personally was present during rude episode, swear no one else was present. Asked have dr. Schaffer call her told no that cannot happen. When asked if dr can give referral told no our dr will not do that. All curt and dismissive. Dr and nurse great if just get past registration.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
