This review takes place 1.3 years after the surgery so that anyone reading can get a sense of the long-term results of Dr. Joel's surgery. At the time when I fell off a cliff while hiking, I had "insurance", but it had a $10,000 deductible. I waited for about a year, but the ankle was getting worse instead of better, and I finally decided that something needed to be done. So I started calling around and searching the internet to find out how much it would cost. Everywhere I looked, the prices were from $22,000 to $35,000 and needless to say, I was discouraged. Then I found out about the Surgery Center of Oklahoma and the Free Market Doctor's Association... I called them and they recommended Dr. Joel M Davis and the prices were right there up front and WAY less than other places. Like 1/4 to 1/6 the price! After some back and forth on the phone, I made an appointment and packed my bags and drove 1,500 miles in my campervan to Oklahoma. It was obvious from the start that Dr. Joel knew more about the ankle than the other doctors and technicians I had talked to in the past year. He explained the situation in terms I could understand. His staff were kind, professional, and extremely helpful. After that, we discussed the options again and ultimately decided that a surgery would be best. Because of the particular type of injury I needed, he estimated a 75% chance of success. He gave me a more than fair price that included everything. There were no hidden fees or gimmicky tricks. He asked when I would like to do it, and I said as soon as possible. The next morning at 6am I was getting prepped at the Surgery Center of Oklahoma! The surgery went smoothly, and then I started recovery. To be honest it was so long! Even after 8 months I was still feeling pain. But there is a happy ending because after about a year things got to the point where I could run without pain again. There's still a sharp pain if I roll the ankle in just the right way, but such occurrences are extremely rare so it doesn't prevent me from doing all the things I love. Just the other day I ran 10 miles in the desert mountains with zero problems. So to Dr. Joel Davis and your staff - Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!

Great bedside manner.. Very knowledgeable...listens to my questions...cares....offers solutions...very kind Yes I would recommend Dr.Davis to others and have done that previously.
