Larry Bookman's Online Review Report Card

A friend that I knew went to Dr. Bookman. She was told she had gastro problems even though she had severe abdominal pain. After two years of continually getting this same diagnoses she die with a grapefruit size tumor where she had so much pain.

He didn't listen to what I was saying and after all tests made me feel really stupid he wasn't professional and didn't make me feel like he cared about me as a patient as he talked down to me about what was goin on and I have still yet to receive my call about the results even after calling them multiple times.

I went in after two years of suffering with IBS... Dr Bookman spent about 30 minutes listening to me and diagnosing based on a prior colonoscopy. I have followed his instructions and take the medication and feel like a real live human being once again...

This doctor did not listen it was obvious that he only wanted to do test which I agreed that I needed the EDG. He saw me at the hospital and did the test using Proporol (?). I was sent home told to call for follow up appointment which I did. When I made the appointment the first time they called and changed it for a month later. So I said fine. They called and changed that appointment for a month later, so I said, fine. When they called to re-schedule the third time I asked to speak to the doctor as they had found three polyps. The receptionist was so rude I could not believe it and told me that the doctor was at the hospital doing test on people one after the other and he could not take phone calls. I said fine may I speak to one of his office staff. In about a week one called back and caught me at an appointment and said she would call me the next day. I have never heard from their office. The friend that took me for the test told me that it was obvious that all he cares about was running people through there like cattle. I guess that turned out to be true. Sad!

Doctor was pompous and hurried. When I told him I was having GERD problems he immediately wanted to do surgery. I asked if we could first look at my diet. He got indignant and asked why I bothered to come see him and that I obviously didn't need him. He never once discussed my diet and did $8000 worth of tests (my part $1500) and dismissed me with "nothing wrong with your gall bladder" immediately after the endoscope procedure. That's it, no follow up appt after the procedure. Took my money, though. I did my own research on the web and it turns out I have a gluten intolerance. He was an AWFUL doctor. I will not recommend him and will let people know how he treats his patients.
