I have received thorough care and treatment. Truly thankful for Dr. Merkey. I would highly recommend his Practice!

If I could use less than one star I would. Had first visit with this doctor over a year ago. Wrote that I was “abused by my parents as a child” and was faking it for attention, without an exam. After going back and advising him this was absolutely not my case and asked him to actually evaluate and discuss it with me, he proceeded to tell me I was wrong. He, again, pushed verbally to me that my parents had abused me. He had no prior knowledge of my life, did not ask any questions. This was the first and only interaction he would have with me. This is now forever in my medical chart and a constant fight for me to be able to get the care that I need. My parents were supportive and wonderful to me, there was no indication of his accusations anywhere else in my files.

It was horrible!!He didn’t listen to anything said, was very condescending, and I feel like he was threatening to take my drivers license if I didn’t agree with him! He disputed everything I told him about my labs and was stuck on one diagnosis without even looking for anything or checking my meds list I will never go back to him and would not recommend him to my worst enemy!!!!

I'm surprised by some of the other reviews. Dr. Merkey isn't very social but he has taken really good care of my mom with her Parkinsons. He listens. I'm grateful to him and his staff.

I would give zero stars if that were an option. After a stroke he put me on an 80 mg dose of Lipitor. A side effect of Lipitor is breathing problems, which I had severely from this medication. When I reported it to Merkey he did not believe me and instead told me to go to the ER because it might be a heart attack. I asked why he put me on Lipitor and was told it was because of my history of high cholesterol (which I have NEVER had) and also because of my history of congestive heart failure (which I have NEVER had). He clearly never read my medical charts when he determined how to treat me. I do not trust him and I would never recommend him.

Young female here. He asked me questions about symptoms I had 10 years ago. It did not seem like he was familiar with my current medical history at all. He refused to see me multiple times and kept brushing me off to other doctors before and after I ended up in the emergency room twice rather than investigating some serious, concerning symptoms I had despite my history of a neurological disease. Staff didn't file the appropriate paperwork to reinstate my driver's license after my last seizure and I didn't find out until DPS alerted me 1.5-2 years later. Incredibly irresponsible.

Waited for an hour despite being on time to my appointment I have time sensitive stuff to do like everybody else please don’t double schedule appointments and waste peoples time longest I’ve ever waited for any type of appointment or at least give me the courtesy while signing in of letting me know so I can reschedule if needed and when I said something to the desk after that hour they told me he just got pulled into a meeting

Dr Michael Merkey has been my Neurologist for 6 or 7 years. He has always been concerned about my care and the medications i take that i know what kind of effect they can have on me and things to watch out for. He is very kind and so are all his staff. I would not go anywhere else. Thank you Dr Merkey and staff.

Waste of time. Tries to put a bandaide on every issue and doesnt try to find underlying conditions.
