Community Hospital North's Online Review Report Card

On 7 December, I had planned gallbladder removal at Community Hospital North. I went into this procedure prepared with a lot of optimism and positive energy considering it was a planned surgery. However, the hospital failed me and I woke up in the recovery room in INTENSE PAIN! Looking back, I should have called 911 from the recovery room hospital bed because the nurses there didn’t have the empathy/compassion to give me the care I needed. I was told I was the last patient of the day. I was forced out of there in unmanageable pain and was NOT on a path to recovery. So, I ended up in the emergency room and even though I waited 4 hours for help it was ultimately the ER (Oklahoma Heart Hospital South) who finally gave me 20 minutes of empathy/compassion to take away my pain. An injection of nausea and pain meds, GI cocktail for GERD and fluid IV for hydration prepared me for healing. I went home and did the things people recovering from surgery do: walked, drank water, ate and slept peacefully. Why didn’t Community Hospital North do this for me? It would have taken minimal effort and compassion and prevented me from enduring 9 hours of intense pain.

Avoid this hospital at all costs. The problems started from day one. My colonoscopy there was a horrible experience and now still trying to get them to fix bill. My insurance covers preventive colonoscopy but they billed as diagnostic. It is going to end up costing over $500. Checked in before 6:00 am and they didn’t get to my procedure until after 12:30 because they lost my covid test.

The imaging center is Phenomenal, from door to door, everyone we came in contact with was professional, and caring. Thank you all for your great care and kindness.

Nurses are VERY RUDE. Not compassionate at all! Whoever is in charge of doing the pre-surgery bloodwork needs to be reevaluated. 💉The lady was doing blood pressure at the same time as trying to do an IV for bloodwork and COVID test so obviously the blood pressure reading is not going to be accurate. I have never been to any other facility where they try to take a blood pressure after or while operating on someone. After getting an IV needle moved around to hit a vein, Covid test, and answering multiple questions your blood pressure is not going to be normal as if you were just resting.WORST HOSPITAL STAFF

You ask and ask at every appointment for a price and they never give you one. Finally, a week before the appointment they give you a number and ask you to pay half. You pay half the day of surgery thinking you only owe the other half. 6 months later they send you a bill that's 8 times the size of what they initially told you. This is a HUGE problem with hospitals. So many Americans are being sent to the poor house for medical bills. I applied for financial assistance and was denied even though I've barely worked. I asked several times for a patient advocate and was never helped. The experience was good, but the bill and the way the hospital avoided telling me the cost is why their rating is so low.

My husband had back surgery here yesterday. We were greeted the second we walked into admissions. The staff was very informative and caring. We did wait awhile to be called back. The staff took time to double check allergies and name and procedure being done. Despite changes from covid, the nurses were all smiling and friendly. They went above and beyond to even make sure I was comfortable while waiting. I give this hospital an A+

I had a knee replacement and the staff of nurses were the best. I was taken care of so well, I would recommend this hospital highly! Thank you!

Dr Robert's and his nursing staff were knowledgeable and competent downright friendly.

When the imaging department called to schedule I informed them had a positive Covid test during routine testing. I told her the date and she said she would schedule me after the time frame of quarantine so they could see me. Finished up my quarantine even went back to work. Went for my 2 MRIs tonight and they refused to see me, said it hadn’t been long enough, they scheduled it. I was completely honest. I deal with a great deal of pain so it would have been great to comehome and rest instead of drive to an appointment after working all day just to be turned away. Unprofessional and inconsiderate. I’m not getting MRIs for no reason. When you have such an important job it should be taken seriously.
