Dana Garber's Online Review Report Card

If you are I'll and miss an appointment they punish you. You are told no openings for a year. My cataract is growing. Had surgery on one eye last year. I like Dr. Garb er but now unable to see her or Dr. Jackson because I was sick and forgot the appointment. Have to find a new doctor. This also happens if you are 10 minutes late. Yep. My fault. Forgiveness is not Devine here. You get punished and made to wait a year.

Doctor Garber is by FAR the best doctor I've ever had. She took the time to explain things thoroughly to me, she was very thorough with her exams, she is incredibly warm and she is STILL on top of my treatment after moving out of state. She called me herself in order to ask about a fax she got from my pharmacy (about Restasis being covered by insurance, and Xiidra not)... she called me the DAY after they sent the fax to ask if I wanted her to write a letter to my insurance to try to get Xiidra covered... she wrote a letter to my insurance immediately, and was able to get Xiidra covered (it's the only drop that works for me). They now take $600/month off of my prescription, leaving me to pay only $30! She is a MIRACLE worker. She responds quickly, she will ACTUALLY speak with you on the phone as opposed to making secretaries/PAs do it. Her approach to doctor-patient relationships is so rare. It is obvious that she cares SO much about her patients. I cannot praise her enough! I will definitely be flying back to see her from the east coast.

Very thorough exam. Very nice lady. Much better than any of those mall optometrists. Doesn't prescribe glasses just so you'll spend big money at the optical shop. Just cares about what is best for your eyes.
