Ian Frederick Dunn's Online Review Report Card

Dr Ian Dunn removed a benign cyst that was sitting in front of, and against my brainstem. After developing multiple neurological symptoms, the most bothersome being face pain, MRI discovered a cyst sitting in my prepontine cistern. The specialist I consulted before Dr Dunn would go back and forth regarding whether the cyst was actually causing my issues- some speculated it could be, others insisted it wasn’t, another wouldn’t comment on whether it was but said they did not recommend surgery to remove the cyst. It was very difficult for me to grasp that there were doctors who didn’t at least believe it was POSSIBLE that this solitary radiological abnormality, that was wedged between my skull base and my brainstem, could be causing my symptoms. After dealing with face pain (among other symptoms) for nearly 2 years, being on multiple medications for the pain, dealing with the side effects from those meds and then moving on to Trigeminal nerve blocks every 2 months, I was losing hope that I would ever be completely pain free. I felt like Dr Dunn heard me. He offered to remove the cyst. I am forever grateful. I am 3 months post op. I am on no medication and haven’t had a nerve block in 5 months. I am pain free! I have my life back! Thanks Dr Dunn!

I am extremely blessed to have such a talented surgeon. I am sure I would not be here if it wasn't for his amazing skill. His team are also extremely talented. His resident Dr. P was kind and efficient as well. He came to the hospital every day and evening to check on me. Kate McDaniels helped me from beginning to end. She helped make the scary process comforting and efficient.I don't think I would be writing this review if it wasn't for his talent or wonderful staff. Thank you Dr. Dunn, Dr P and Kate McDaniels for everything. Five stars isn't enough.

I absolutely can not say enough good things about Dr. Dunn and his Nurse Practitioner, Kate!! My husband was diagnosed with a mass in his 3rd ventricle. He had a frontal craniotomy last Wednesday. Dr. Dunn is phenomenal, intelligent and professional. He is very kind and caring. Kate is an absolute God send. I don't think I would have made it through like I have without her. She always text me back right away. She understands how scary these type of situations can be and how scary it is for patients and their family members. She has helped me tremendously. I know first hand how scary it is to know your loved one is having brain surgery and the risk of things changing drastically following. Kate takes you under her wing and helps you in this process. Thank you Dr. Dunn and Kate, along with the additional staff that have helped make this happen and helped us through this process.

I had a brain tumor which turned out to be a rare cyst. He removed it through my nose and left me very well off. He does have to stick up doctor quality but it’s small. He really does care and I absolutely LOVE in nurse Kate. 10/10 would recommend. He specializes in pituitaries which was my problem.

Love that Dr Dunn listens to me and makes me feel valued. He truly seems to care about his patient!
