List of John Allen Koontz's Reviews
Ever since 2020 it’s been impossible to get in to see Dr Koontz or his PA. I had 2 seizures and I called the Dr and was told to go to the ER which I did then I requested a face to face appointment and the day before my appointment I was notified it would be a virtual visit. I have been with Dr Koontz for over 20 years but due to lack of staff and lack of care I was forced to find another Dr who spent 45 minutes with me. I ended up needing a Rheumatology but this wouldn’t be caught by a virtual visit smh….. I have been fighting this since January 2022. I could go on and on but all I want now is my medical records. I’m tired of being on hold for 20 up to 45 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous.
Love Dr. Koontz. Just wish I could have my call go through. I have to typically wait 15 + minutes to get in touch with someone.
Great doc. Always patient and thorough. Scheduling usually has been very quick as well.
Dr. Koontz is a good doctor who cares about what is wrong with you. He's not in a rush to get in and out, he will listen and take his time.
If i could give this clinic less than 1 star I would. I will be seeking legal advise to sue for negligence. My husband was discharged from OU hospital and we followed up in clinic to get lab results and follow up medication from Dr Koontz 2 days later. When we made the appt we made sure to tell Dr Koontz office the situation and to request his charts from OU. When we got to the appointment they had not requested the charts and lied to us that they had. I called OU records to confirm that they never requested his charts. They took 3 weeks to get lab results back to us. They never followed up to get repeat lab work done to confirm treatment worked. When trying to make the appt ourselves the nurse put me on hold for 40 minutes, lost connection and never returned my call.

I have been a patient of Dr Koontz since he opened up his practice in Oklahoma. He is an excellent Dr. with an uncanny knack of assessing correctly ailments including rarely seen ones. I wouldn't even think of going to another Dr, due to his abilities and talents along with a friendly bedside manner. He is a physician who truly cares about his patients.

Dr koontz is not attentive, it feels like he talking to a wall.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
