Beware! Events of past few months led us to remove our mother from this memory care facility. 1) Problems included the spread of covid without notification to families. 2) Secondly the nursing staff quit in a single day, again without notification to families of residents. 3) We moved my mother as a result of this situation, and yet Legends penalized the family two months rent. 4) Legends front-line employees lack effective supervision to ensure the care of the helpless residents. Admittedly they only have supervision on the weekends of 4 hours per day for these minimally trained front line staff.
Went to see my fiance's father who resides in the memory care wingHis father has deteriorated so much in just the 2 weeks he has been there that he just wanted to leave. We were given the impression that he would be engaged in activites from right after breakfast until lunch and then again after lunch until dinner. We got there just after 9:15am and were told at 9:30 that activities would be starting any minuteWe wanted to see what activities he would be participating in on this day we left at 10:53 and still no activities had begunThe room was messy and the toilet was nasty. I asked about weather he was on insulin because while he was staying with us his blood sugar was in the high 200's to over 300 and he is diabetic they said his A1c was good and they give him peanut butter and jelly and cookies for lunch (Are you people crazy?) As far as memory care goes the only memory care I can see is that the wing he is on is locked so he can't wonder off. I said this was not what we were expecting when we got there. His dad was asleep and I was told that if he didn't want to participate he didn't have to and they were not going to make him so I made the statement that so he could just stay in his room and watch tv or sleep all day if he wanted? They said if that's what he wants. Then because I questioned them about his care they said I was confrontational and I was not allowed to come back.
My parents have been living at Legend for 4 months. I could not be happier with the facility.I drop in nearly every day to check on my parents. One of the first things I noticed about Legend was that the staff always has a smile for me when I come in.Employees genuinely care for the residents and are cheerful. My dad loves to tease and be teased, so they tease him. My mother is fairly quiet, so they interact with her in a more reserved manner. Everyone there knew my parents by name by the end of the first week.I feel like they go the extra mile to help my parents with their room, the laundry, getting meals to them or getting them to the dining hall. My parents love the food. The nursing staff tries to abide by my wishes in spite of the fact that my dad often has other ideas. My dad gets confused and frustrated by things, but they are good about cajoling him into a safe alternative.I have never seen angry employees, unsafe conditions, cleanliness problems or issues that have not been addressed in a timely manner. One reason we looked at Legend was an employee I ran into. He had worked there for nearly 2 years and he loved the place. He thought his boss was the best ever. I thought, if someone can work there for 2 years and still love their boss I should check the place out.Placing my parents there was an excellent decision. The cost is high, but you get what you pay for.Edited. It has been 3 years since I wrote this review. Both of my parents have passed away. My review of Legends still stands. They have the best staff ever. After 3 years many of the staff were the same as when my parents moved in. High staff retention says a lot of good things about a place. My mother lived through the covid times. She couldn't understand why I couldn't come in to see her, why I had quit eating with her or why masks. It was hard, but knowing they loved her and were taking excellent care of her made it acceptable.
I've seen first hand the care and quality provided. Truly makes you feel like family. residents are so happy
Definitely bring your family here if you want to get robbed and get all your family members jewelry stolen. Legends is apparently not liable for lost or stolen items so all your precious family values are free game to the staff. Thankyou Legend's for making my grandparents feel unsafe and bullied by your staff members. You seemed warm and welcoming at first but when you take from people who can be somewhat helpless at times is extremely wrong and that should be common sense for you people.
My father was abused at this facility. Instead of hearing him, they advised me to take him to another facility only to learn he was telling the 100% truth. The facility still supported the staff that abused him even though my father couldn't do what he was accused. Both of my parents were told to not come back without notice because my father was abused. Now upon packing to move their things out, they have been robbed. There are some wonderful people there. However, the administrator and techs that abused him are still present. They have damaged my parents and wasted time, money, resources and energy. Do not move your loved ones there ever.Twenty four hours later, the apartment has been robbed again. They took things that have my Mom in tears this morning. Do not trust anyone at this facility!!!!!!!!
Been working at this community for almost 5 years.... This place is outstanding we go above and beyond to meet the needs for our residents.... Great work enviroment.... Love it there
I’ve been working at Legend at Rivendell for about 2 years and I can honestly say I will happily work there as long as they’ll keep me. The staff care so much about each and every resident and we all have such amazing bonds with family members and residents alike. This is the best place I’ve ever worked.
I have been working in senior housing for 11 years and I have worked for Legend at Rivendell for two years. Out of ALL the communities that I have worked, Legend at Rivendell Assisted Living is one of the best! The care is great! Our chef prepares delicious food daily, restaurant style dining with a menu to choose from and the waitstaff shows love and respect to each resident. We have an active activities program, several outings (scenic drives, Walmart trips, lunch outings) each week as well as monthly elegant Friends and Family night celebrations for you to join your family here for live music and delicious food. We also have a beautiful courtyard for the residents to enjoy with a selection of beautiful apartments. Legend at Rivendell is above the rest! Come take a tour today!
Facility was clean, neat, and residents well cared for, everything looked fantastic and like a really awesome place until I saw staff on cell phones, staff being bullied and verbally abused by other staff openly , even heard and saw what I am assuming was a supervisor making fun of other employees and using foul language. Employees looked miserable and you could tell that there were segregated groups that if you were not a part of them you were harassed and treated very poorly. This behavior was shocking to see amongst adults and in such a beautiful place, my hat is off to the poor women that have to work and endure such treatment, they are real troopers and despite the noticeable frustration and hurt these ladies were obviously feeling they never once showed it or took it out on a resident, great job ladies and head's up people see the truth and do notice your great job and hard work.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
