List of Shon Cook's Reviews
I recommended a friend to Dr. Cook and she was as impressed as I am. Dr. Cook was very thorough and even entered any information I gave him in his laptop himself. I would absolutely go back to Dr. Cook if I had another issue. I also found him to be very professional but at the same very kind and caring.
Dr. Cook walked in the door solving the problem. Honest and responsive, doesn't sugar coat anything but didn't let me dwell on gory details either. He was very much down to the business of the situation and that suited me just fine.
Dr. Cook is excellent. I had a Acoustic neuroma and in 2013 him, Dr Dyer and Dr. Mcgee did surgery and he saved my facial nerves and I am doing great
Dr. Cook and his staff are exceptional! I will forever be thankful for them. Dr Cook removed a CCM from my husbands brain. He was out of the hospital the next day and has a tiny scar. The girls up front go above and beyond to help. Thank you ALL for everything! I would also like to add that we have private insurance but had to have referrals from IHS. This was never a problem for him or his staff. IHS is extremely difficult to deal with at times and they took care of everything for us. I can’t see any of the negative reviews being from someone who has actually been under the care of this office and or staff.
If you or a loved one is needing a neurosurgeon I do not advise Shon Cook. He was very unprofessional and made my boyfriend feel incompetent. He literally laughed at my boyfriend when he was explaining his back pain. He was condescending and rude. My boyfriend is a veteran and has back issues from the military. He got upset and said the appointment was over. Dr. Cook would not give the copy of the MRI back to him because he wanted to "finish his notes". Dr. Cook also told my boyfriend that he was making things up. He also overheard of another patients diagnosis. Uhumm. HIPAA. Please don't bring your loved ones here. You are more than welcome to share this for family and friends as well.
Dr Cook is the best neurosurgeon ever. I was diagnosed with Chiari malformation 1. I was seeing a neurologist. I was referred to an OU medical. I didn't want to see that doctor. I did my own homework and I found Dr Cook. Dr. Cook was God sent. I prayed about a neurosurgeon that knew about Chiari. His staff is great Amanda and Misty are awesome and very polite. Dr. Cook' it's not the doctor to waste your time or money. He will review your case first . If Dr. Cook can help you then he will schedule an appointment do an evaluation. I saw Dr. Cook never a PA . Dr Cook took the time texplain exactly what was going to happen and what to expect after surgery. The most impressive thing of all . My incision it wasn't a foot long scar and he didn't use staples or stitches he used a glue. I am one happy patient call Dr. Cook today. I guarantee you won't regret it. Tell him Mrs. Burkhalter sent you.
It's been a while (16 years this month) since I had my TLIF surgery with Dr. Cook. I believe I was one of his first patients after he completed his training at UCLA. Thankfully, he was the neurosurgeon on call the night I ended up in the emergency room after my disks collapsed in my lower back, compressing my spine. He spent endless hours working to meticulously complete a very difficult surgery that my family was very apprehensive about. At the time, I was a young mom with two little ones to take care of and was so happy to have my life back after years of debilitating pain. I have had ZERO issues since the surgery and even 16 years later, feel stronger and better than ever. Dr. Cook, you improved the quality of my life 100%. I will be forever grateful to you!
Unprofessional and dismisses veterans and talks openly about other patients in front of people. Do not recommend!
Dr. Cook is very rude and unprofessional. He made sny comments about me trying to explain my medical history and called my PCP incompetent for referring me. I wanted to leave and end the appointment he refused to give me back MY MRI disk. I had to leave without my property. 😡 I wont even drive past this office ever again.
Dr Cook is the best neurosurgeon ever. I was diagnosed with Chiari malformation 1. Not many doctors are familiar with Chiari but he is a specialist. His staff is awesome. I had to have surgery. I was very impressed with the incisions and my recovery time. I recommend that you see Dr. Cook if you need to see a neurosurgeon. I promise you you won't regret it. Dr. Cook I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I pray for a great surgeon and God sent me to you thanks again.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
