Steven Michael Magness's Online Review Report Card

This is Kaitlin Wakelee. It comes up as Jakob my husband for some reason. I had my gallbladder out and was told this would be the “easiest” surgery. It was quite the opposite and I wish I would’ve researched other doctors. I’m almost 8 months out from surgery and still in the worst pain from surgery. I have severe nerve damage and can’t do things that I once could BEFORE surgery. I have burning, sharp stabbing pains and a twisting sensation in my belly button now. It’s 8 months since surgery. Worst experience ever. I even went back in a couple of times just to sit in a chair and lift my shirt up for him to look at my stomach and say I don’t know what’s wrong. Didn’t even feel around. He knew he messed up and it took me going to my PCP and crying every time she touched my stomach to figure out something wasn’t right. I will never be the same from this surgery. I now have to go to physical therapy to try and correct things and get back to where I was before this surgery. Thanks a lot, you ruined my life.

Dr.magness is a great surgeon. He operated on me at xmas 2019. It was a long surgery for adhesions. He also has done hernia surgery. He is through and patience and made me feel related. He checked on me the next day and spent quality time.. if I had to have anymore surgery then I will request him. Besides being a great surgeon...he is attractive.

Nursing staff made a lot of noise and were joking around when my Dad was waiting on his procedure. RN only came in once to put his IV in. We waited 3 hours before the surgeon even spoke to us. Too much kidding around. We won't be back. Nor will I recommend this facility. Not professional or courtesy.

Dr. Magness performed an Inguinal Hernia surgery, on me, April 27th, 2021. Other than a little soreness, I have been walking, around, this morning, with hardly any discomfort! This has been my second Hernia, performed by Dr. Magness, first the left, and now the Right! Don't believe I will need any pain meds, other than Tylenol. Also like to thank Dr. Thompson, for the Anesthesia. Thanks to Both Drs.,and nurses, I highly recommend!!!

Dr Magness was extremely nice, kept me well informed, and did an excellent job. Appointments were on time and easy to get

I was referred to Dr Magness to repair my hiatal hernia. I underwent a Lap Nissen Fundiplication. I was in the ER 3 times in the month after surgery with esophageal spasms. I told him that my wrap was too tight. He told me it was still swollen from surgery. 5 mths later, I lost 30 lbs b/c I couldn't eat b/c itwas too tight. I went to a diff surgeon,had a revision My hernia was twice the size,my stomach was in my chest and the wrap was too tight.Thankful for my new surgeon Magness won't listen!!

I waited one hour and forty five minutes the first visit, and two hours my second and final visit. He did not use any type of antiseptic prior to injecting my coccyx area. Witnessed by my husband who was in the room. No sterile prepping, it was too late once the needle was inserted. His assistant promised my second visit would not be as lengthy as the first, and I would be right in and out. I left the office without being seen. Extremely unprofessional.

Placed feeding tube in my dads colon whitch resulted in death and suffering medical records he admits fault

Very personable and friendly, but also very informative and professional. Did not rush me to surgery and explained all options and answered every question.

Dr. Magness did an emergency bowl obstruction surgery on my mother, who is morbidly obese. He was very straightforward and to the point. During the follow up visit - 3 weeks later, he took the time to answer any and all of the onslaught of questions we had. More importantly, he steered us in the right direction for election of bariatric surgery. We were not rushed in and out (which seems to be social norm nowadays). He is not only a very confident surgeon, but also a thorough one.
