We are fortunate enough to have very good insurance via my employer. As such, when Dr. Smith decided to go the Direct Primary Care route, we didn't think it made economical sense for us. Even though we had to change physicians, we only looked at the financial side. We transferred to a new physician -- which was a very good physician. However, within 3 months, we had already had difficulties in getting responses from that Physician's office, booking appointments, and having to restate histories, etc. to the Physician's staff before we could book appointments or get the care we needed.We decided to switch back to Dr. Smith & Pioneer Health DPC. We discovered that we could switch out insurance over to a higher deductible, and it reduced premiums enough to cover our DCP monthly fee.It still seems a little uncanny that when we call the office, the phone is either answered by Joni (nurse), or Dr Smith, herself. Many times they can take care of whatever we need over the phone, or are always willing to book an appointment for us if we need it. When we do have appointments, Dr Smith & Joni spend as much time as we need, and are able to take care of multiple concerns per visit . We also have taken care of many things via text messaging - something we never had the advantage of before!Everyone's needs & situations are different, but we highly recommend Pioneer Health DPC.

Dr. Smith is a fantastic doctor. I never feel rushed or inconvenient. The Primary Direct option is the solution to all the problems with insurance. I recommend both Dr. Smith and the Primary Direct option every chance I get.

I highly recommend Pioneer Heath PDC because I had an health care emergency this weekend, Kelsey gave me a fLu & Covid test Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of her clinic. I went home an experienced more issues so I was driven to the ER & admitted to the ICU. Kelsey has been to the hospital to check on my progress & today I texted her & said I’m having more problems so thirty minutes later she is in my room & we are going over the issues. That is what Primary Direct Healthcare looks like! You have a top notch healthcare advocate access twenty four hours a day. Thanks again Kelsey you are my HERO!!❤️😎👍✅✅✅

Kelsey Smith is a kind, compassionate, caring & talented physician. I have been her patient for a very long time & she has walked with me through many heartbreaking & serious crisis. Kelsey is my go to doctor for referrals, advice and all things medically related. When she started Pioneer Health PDC I joined right away, I do have Medicare & a supplement but I was not going to go without Kelsey as my Primary Doctor. DPC gives me the option of not waiting forever to see another doctor, I get an immediate response by many electronic avenues. I urge you if you need the security of having access to a very good physician to sign up with Kelsey & start your journey to a better way of personal medical care.😎👍❤️

I didn’t know if this would work for me as I have insurance and erroneously thought this type of medical model would cost me more since Dr. Smith no longer takes insurance. This experience has been a great one. Previously when sick it was impossible to promptly get an appointment and I would end up at an urgent care. Now I can actually get “day of” appointments. I can email Joni or Dr Smith and usually receive communication back within an hour. Many medications they carry in-house and are cheaper than at my pharmacy with insurance. The doctor keeps track of me and my medical concerns. This is worth it and I’m glad I signed up!

Dr. Smith is understanding and each visit is personalized to the patient. She is very professional and thorough. Amazing health care model that every PCP needs to look into! Wish I was staying in Stillwater to take full advantage of this.
