I visited Southern Hills dental in December. First time ever visiting this office. I thought everything was fine with my experience, came in and signed the paperwork I needed to. Was taken back for x-rays. I was told that I needed a deep cleaning and they couldn't do a regular cleaning- that's never happened and I said that to my hygienist, I was like "That's crazy I've never had an issue where I couldn't just get a regular cleaning." I asked if that was possible and then to come back for the deep cleaning, she kind of acted like that I was stupid question and I was like Okay.... Someone treating me like I'm an idiot for not understanding the process of dentistry is not a great feeling.... But I literally kept it short and simple and just said Okay. Then the dentist came in for like 5 minutes and asked me about Invisalign. I said No thank you because I want to get this deep cleaning first. Then billing came in and it was $1000, I couldn't pay it so I was like Well I guess I'll leave because I'm not going to take out a Care Credit loan to pay for a teeth cleaning. Like it's no one's problem that I couldn't pay that so I honestly barely said two words to anyone in there about it. I just said I couldn't pay it and left. FAST FORWARD I went to a new office and needed my records. I asked for all exam notes and apparently I was "Disrespectful to hygienist and front desk and was told my behavior wouldn't be tolerated and that I need to be seen in another office." Literally not told any of that..... Would never have known this was their perception of me unless I got those exam notes. Was never told by anyone I have to be seen somewhere else because of my behavior...... What behavior I have no clue because again I literally said Hello, answered when asked how my day was. Sat in the chair and got all my scans. Like there's no reason to do too much talking at the dentist in my opinion. And the only issue I had was not realizing I couldn't get a regular cleaning before a deep cleaning and I stated as much with the hygienist and I thought that interaction was pretty benign.<br><br>So all in all I'm saying I had a bad experience because I had no idea the ENTIRE office perceived me as being a terrible patient with the bare minimum of interaction until I got my exam notes saying I was reprimanded and told to go somewhere else..Which I was not told any of that.

The staff at Southern Hills were phenomenal! Dr. Burk was Awesome. He explained everything step by step so I would have a good understanding of what was going on. I'm so excited to get my new smile 😃

Friendliest staff ever! The team works great together. Had major dental work done and don’t think I could have pulled it off anywhere else. They all made sure I was calm and as comfortable as can be in a situation like that. Thank u so much
