List of Benjamin Chong's Reviews
He is knowledgeable, but he has terrible bedside manner and people skills. He is condescending and sets a bad example for his residents. I would not recommend him and I’m surprised he’s allowed to mentor residents.
He is knowledgeable but he has the worst bedside manner and no people skills. He is incredibly condescending and should stick to research or get some soft skills training.
Total agreement with the 1st review on Dr. Chong. Kept me waiting for a long time before seeing him. After that, openly discussed very personal details of my condition on front of everyone, including my family and some strangers within earshot. Knew about my condition, etc., but made me feel like sh-t in front of others.
I was having a lot of trouble with psoriasis, and was told that Dr Ben Chong was an expert in the field. I am also a healthcare provider, so I know how patients should be treated. My daughter, 4 years old, came with me to the appointment. I am a male, and I was in a hospital gown, naked underneath, and Dr Chong exposed my genitals right in front of my daughter, for several minutes. I was very embarrased. He was talking with a resident the whole time, not talking to me. Then he said we will be back. Then, a nurse comes back and talks to me. I never saw Chong again. He never explained anything to me and never told me what was going on. He maybe very intelligent and an expert in the field, but he is a horrible physician and not a people person. He lacks decency and respect (re: exposing my genitals in front of my young daughter). I suggest he stick to research and not work with patients. He is probably the worst doctor I have ever been to.
Dr. Chong has a wonderful bedside manner! He is very knowledgeable and listened to my concerns and answered my questions.
There was a 4 month wait to get in to see Dr Chong. I chose him because of his background and his research interests, which were listed on his profile on his UTSW webpage. I have psoriasis, and he specializes in psoriasis. When I finally got in to see Dr Chong, he didn't ask me anything except where are the lesions, and then told me it was psoriasis. My 6 year old daughter was in the room with me, and I had a lesion in my groin area, and Dr Chong looked over at my daughter and then turned back to me and lifted my gown and exposed my privates to her (to examine my groin area) with no concern for my privacy or for her innocence or how that would make her feel. I had to tell my daughter to look away. I was very embarrased and angry about this. Dr Chong did not explain the disease to me or ask if I had any questions, he just told me that he was writing for Triamcinolone cream and rushed out of the room. I had to go out of the room and ask for the script, which he forgot to write.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
