List of John Hood's Reviews
I would not recommend seeing Dr. Hood. they happily took my money for a colonoscopy. But never reponded when I asked two questions via the patient portal. They also berated me when I asked why I hadnt gotten a call. Go somewhere else. These aren't the people to help you.
Experience was wonderful at Dr. Hood’s office. The receptionist, the nurses, and the anesthesiologist were all very kind and thorough. I would highly recommend this office
Dr. Hood and staff was very professional, friendly, educational, and efficient. I choose him to be my doctor from now on and I will refer my husband and family to him. Thank you Dr. Hood and staff for my excellent care.
I would highly recommend this place and Dr Hood best service ever he explained everything he was great and calming best experience ever their staff is amazing
My last Colonoscopy was with Dr Hood. He is the best in Tulsa, OK. Very nice and knowledgable.
Twenty years as a patient..EXCELLENT DOCTOR
Great doctor until I wanted a second opinion on a procedure. Then he dropped me from his practice.
Dr Hood has been my Doctor since I was diagnosed with breast cancer 28 years ago. He has seen me every 5 years and is what every doctor should aspire to be. Thorough and compassionate, explains everything and communicates with referring oncologist and family doctor. I have referred many family members & friends. Wouldn’t think of going anywhere else! I moved to Arkansas 20 years ago and come back to Tulsa without any hesitation because I know the care I will receive.
I've been a satisfied patient of Dr. Hood for more than eight years. I always found him to be very professional and understanding and I had confidence in him. But now I have a gastric problem and I've called his office for three days explaining that I need to talk to someone and no one will return my calls. I don't know what is going on at his office but it appears to me that they don't care about their patients unless they are having a surgical procedure.
I went to Dr. Hood for right lower quadrant pain. He said a colonoscopy had to be done first before a capsule swallow could be done (which he said was what I actually needed). After my colonoscopy, he ordered a barium swallow and NOT a capsule swallow. Why does it matter? The barium swallow could have been done without the colonoscopy and for much cheaper. I believe he likes to order these minor procedures to run up patients' bills. BEWARE. Still no diagnosis and now he recommends surgery!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
