List of Erin K. Allen's Reviews
I waited to form an opinion of this Dr. because my first visit was less than ideal, but figured maybe it wasn’t always this way, but now I can say I have not felt cared for by Dr. Allen at all. She is extremely rushed in her appointments and has not taken time to listen to me. Not friendly. Staff is snippy. No one here is helpful. I will be finding a different PCP.
Love Dr Allen, she paying attention to my every need. even provide me with material so that I can better understand my concerns. Very personable and attentive.
I have been a patient for a decade, but I have a mixed review of this practice. Dr. Allen seems patient and kind, but I usually have a long wait in the room and feel rushed through my appointment. The nurses don't always look carefully at your data so you may have repeated tests when you don't need them. Once, my husband was forgotten in the exam room during one of his appointments. The Dr. was going to come back and just never did. Also, the Mercy billing system is totally bonkers, and for several years running I've had unpleasant surprises on my bills that I have disputed to no end. Make sure you find out in advance how they will code procedures and check with your insurance before doing anything. You might think, for example that recommended blood work on your annual check up would be covered as preventative care since it is a recommended part of the annual exam even if you have no issues, but it was coded as non-preventative and so it wasn't covered on my (good) insurance plan. Also, don't ask a single question more than what you set your appointment for. You may be asked to come back for a separate appointment, or billed for another visit. I think this is probably more of a Mercy problem than Dr. Allen or her staff, so I'd say 3.5 stars for the practice overall, but I have to take a star off for the medical coding issues. Mercy needs to take a look at how their practices are keeping people from seeking healthcare and leading to bigger problems in the long run.
I was a patient of Dr, Allen for over 7 years. She has been a great doctor that helped me a lot over the years except if you have thyroid issues. On thyroid medication she absolutely refused to listen or work with me. She puts the test numbers before the patient. She adjusted my dose 3 times based up test results not me the person, the patient, how I was doing on the medication. Every time she would lower it and I would feel horrible within a couple weeks. I would call and ask her to adjust it, but she would not help without being seen and testing it again which costs $$$. Not wanting to deal with finding another Dr. I would go back and sure enough it was too low. She would adjust the dosage back to where it had been. On the slightly higher dose the test said it was too high, yet I had no symptoms of it being to high (rapid heartbeat, losing weight, sweating, etc) She doesn't care. You are not a person with feelings or thoughts. Your a number, and she just wants you to be a robot. If you are lucky you will get a 10 minute visit. I didn't complain because I was getting results until the last couple years of thyroid ups and downs. Finally, I voiced my frustration and she had a total temper tantrum like a spoiled child. She was rude and condescending. I even apologized for being honest and having an opinion, but nope she told me she would not be my Dr. any more. I am totally shocked! I thought we were adults that could have a conversation, but no after 7 years of working together she kicked me out and refused to see me just because I was honest with her and voiced my opinion about my health!
Love Dr. Allen, she's very caring and professional.
Dr. Allen is amazing. She goes out of her way to take care of me and my family. Her nurse, Ashley is great too. I love this office! I was there the week of 12/14/2017
The nurses are very rude. And whoever answers the phones are just as rude.
Poor bed side manners.
Dr. Allen is great in appointments, but she is very hard to get to see and there is no followup. I think this is more of a staff issue, but sadly this still means I could not reccomend a friend or family member to use her office. I have twice had issues where I was waiting for lab results and I got the results through the online tool that Mercy uses, but never heard from a nurse or the doctor about what they meant or what I need to do next.
Dr. Allen and her staff are amazing. Wouldnt choose any one else!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
