There is not enough that I can say about my 10 Week journey with Lisa! Amazing, Impactful, Educational, Transformative are but I few! Her delightful manor, her intelligence, her knowledge and her intuition totally vastonish me. I can honestly say my life has improved tremendously and is better off having Lisa in it, guiding, teaching and enlightening me about me! Oh and I lost weight and am in the best shape of my life!!!!!!

Lisa has been a pleasure to work with. She’s knowledgeable, intentional and and extremely detail oriented. Working with her has put me on the fast track to attaining my own goals, and she has been an invaluable resource throughout the process. Like many people, the pandemic resulted in me having a lot of anxiety. I became afraid of the idea of getting sick and it didn’t help that I was experiencing some health issues including reoccurring panic attacks and twitching all over my body, mainly in my legs and arms. I went to so many doctors, got so many tests and no one could tell me what was causing all my problems. I decided that although I couldn’t control much of what was happening, I could change how I was taking care of myself and my body. I had gained weight during the pandemic and stopped working out regularly for about two years. When I decided to look for a nutritionist, I came across Lisa on Zocdoc and I immediately knew I had found the right person after looking into her programs and reading all the great reviews. Now that I’ve finished my 10-week program with Lisa, all I can say is, she is the BEST. She is thorough, takes time to go over blood work and your medical history. She is knowledgeable, a good listener, comforting, non-judgmental and because of that, she gives you a plan that works for your lifestyle and for YOU. I never felt deprived of the foods I liked but I’m better at managing what I consume and how much I consume, which is something I will continue to do long after the program. The food in my meal plan was not only nutritious but delicious. Having my regular check-ins also kept me accountable and felt like I had a support system throughout the 10-weeks. Lisa is available for questions any time and she is truly knowledgeable and knows her stuff. Now to the results - this is the best I’ve felt since the pandemic started. Since starting the program, I haven’t experienced any major panic attacks, thanks to the supplements Lisa recommended I am no longer experiencing the twitching that numerous doctors weren’t able to help me with and I have achieved my goal of losing weight and being / feeling healthier. Although I’ve only lost 6 pounds, I’ve gained lean mass and have lost 10% of body fat. I’ve dropped two clothing sizes (was wearing a size 8 during the pandemic and now down to a size 4) and now wearing the clothes I haven’t been able to fit into since 2019. Virtual workouts with Al Rodriguez were key in keeping me at a baseline of fitness and strength during the pandemic. For the past few months I have trained in the Studio and have found that training to be crucial to building even more strength. I have physical challenges like scoliosis and arthritis so our approach is slow and careful and it is working well. I look forward to improving my strength even more.
My 11 y o son was severely underweight, and his doctor mentioned child protective services... I desperately ran to Alvin asking him to do "some exercises, whatever, something" to improve my son's appetite and build some muscle weight. It was peak of COVID lockdowns. Alvin normally works with adults of all ages, not with children; and he normally worked in studio. So, some adjustments and learning happened, and here are the results: the kid, who is 13 now, is beautiful young man, with healthy appetite and strong body, great posture. While I was obsessing about his weight, something was happening to his mind as well as he continued working with Alvin: his self-esteem improved, he became more confident and better-behaved person. Mental benefits came in especially handy as he suffered from bullying at school. I liked my son's progress so much that I myself joined Alvin's program and also experienced great physical and mental benefits. If you are lucky enough to live in the area, check for yourself. But even if you're not, remote option became available and effective with Alvin and others at the studio. Happy fitness training!
Lisa was a fantastic nutritionist to work with. Not only is she knowledgeable in her craft, but I appreciated that she was a person of color, just like me. Someone I could connect with, easily talk to and knew the foods I love to eat from my culture, but can’t have much of. Lisa helped me regain control of my nutrition, my acid reflux has significantly decreased and overall, I feel and look like I’m taking care of my health in the right way, thanks to Lisa and her nutritional package she put together for me. She was kind, compassionate and flexible. I encourage everyone to see a nutritionist at some point in their life! I hope it’s someone like Lisa.
I've been training with Alvin Rodriguez for more than three years. I look forward to my weekly sessions because I know I am going to be challenged by Alvin's thoughtful, well-rounded, and precise workouts, whether in the Midtown studio or via Zoom at home. High Intensity strength training with Alvin has been a great investment for my health and well-being, especially during the pandemic. I feel stronger and more confident in my body at 40 than in my 20s.
I bought the 10 week package and had a great experience with Lisa! She's incredibly helpful, responsive and educated on the best way to help each person meet their individual goals. After many unsuccessful attempts at losing weight, I ended up loosing 11lbs of body fat and gaining 1.5lbs of muscle in my 10 weeks with Lisa. I highly recommend working with her!
