Wonderful team with frequent communication! I have worked with Recovery Unplugged and their clinical team when sending clients for step down care, from the admission, to the clients treatment has been top tier! Incredible program with incredible staff! Betsi has always gone above and beyond to support my clients.

I came to this place (Annandale, VA) facing mental health issues and substance abuse and looking for a place where I could to my IOP (Intensive outpatient program) after completing my PHP (partial hospitalization program)... End up finding a home, a family, a great group of therapists, professional, friendly, embracing, knowledgeable and most of all made me feel comfortable opening up and being myself. Their approach is not the common type, they use music and arts as a medium to help you express your emotions, traumas, your progress and insights. They're trained in all forms of therapy and seen them using CBT, DBT, EFT, play therapy, mindfulness therapy, humanistic, hollistic, Psychodrama. They also offer 1 on 1 and group sessions, family/couples therapy, Dharma meetings, medical practitioners, counselors, medication management, nurses and staff. Their therapy sessions helped me expand on my interpersonal, and social skills by motivating me to speak in public and lose my stage fright. Even if you're not artistic inclined, believe me, you will leave this place loving arts more than anything. Also they have a very subtle approach to sensory regulation which helps with regulating your emotions and understanding your Triggers. My personal experience was more with therapists like Wu, Maggie, Eva, Lindsey and Carrie (family/couples therapy) and each one of them combined offered an individualized approach to therapy, and when combined, it was perfect because it helped me explore into different areas that I needed to work on through different techniques. This is a place for everyone in need for mental health, substance abuse or just a general wellness help, and from what I know most insurances will cover it, if not all. Once you complete the program you are enrolled in the alumni program and can still attend to their weekly meetings, see your friends, and hang out on their monthly parties. This is truly a place that made me feel belonged, and that made me feel that I will never be alone in the struggle. Totally reccomended. Thanks RU! Thanks to all that saved my life.
Attending IOP at Recovery Unplugged in Annandale, VA was one of the best decisions of my life. The atmosphere was always welcoming and rewarding. The staff approached recovery with an open-mind and customized the fit to each individual. Prior to this experience, I had lost my creativeness in active addiction, but even in other recovery groups including: AA, NA, CDA, IOPs, rehabs I wasn't able to regain the music within me. However, Recovery unplugged helped me find the "real me" and through multiple sessions of group and individual therapy I love playing my guitar, singing and writing my own music again. Where I struggled to be open and honest, Recovery Unplugged made it surprisingly easy to be my true genuine self. The group sessions were split into two halves with a break in between. First session was mainly a check-in to see how everyone was doing. The second involved more behavior modification exercises from learning about emotions, characterizing feelings, understanding recovery options/solutions, brainstorming challenges at home/work etc. You also get complimentary 1:1 sessions with a counselor and therapist. The open mics were my favorite. This is where I got to share my music and talk about a given topic discussed with the counselor. Highly recommend this recovery option. Don't hesitate to reach out and schedule if on the fence.
Anybody out there that needs the best quality care for addiction recovery unplugged is bar none thee best treatment center I’ve been to. The staff members that you engage with, treat you like family.
I am a recovering addict after having relapsed after 7 years sober and this was my first Rehab ever to go to and stayed 24 days, they offer 21-28 day program. I have nothing but great things to say about the center and it's music based so you can bring an instrument along and or sing in front of the group if you have great vocals, they include you if you are comfortable enough too. This is really a tight knit community so you really feel that connection with everyone who comes and goes through your stay, they know how to make you feel welcomed instantly . It inst Institutlized and they still let you have your phone just dont use them during group unless for an assignment, they still let you vape/smoke just outside obviously but they very much let you have the freedom but you just stay sober during your stay and they take care of your medication if you need or have to take any. They will every Sunday buy great food options for the whole group, fridays they have a live band that is actually most of the staff, Saturdays are more relaxed days at the center and the rest of the week is normal group days. If you are not used to schedule they really are great about getting everyone on one since when you come back to real world, it's good to keep that going and it creates structure within self. You do meet with a nutritionist and therapist once a week which is on site already, so they have them on hand. I was actually sad about leaving and wished I could of stayed forever, so that says something about a rehab! I could honestly talk forever about this place but I put a couple things that stuck out to me or that I really appreciated during my stay there.
My loved one's care while at Recovery Unplugged has been above and beyond what I had imagined. The staff have provided very focused and individualized care. They have been very helpful to us as we are new to the world of substance abuse treatment. They have been available to explain the admissions process, daily/weekly program, and additional options after residential treatment. As a parent, this whole process can be confusing and intimidating, but the RU staff treat everyone with respect and take time to explain their philosophy and program goals. Our whole family has learned a lot during the first leg of the treatment journey and we plan to keep on participating in RU programs to be a part of a community that supports a drug free lifestyle. Thank you to all of the staff!
RU is the best addiction treatment center there is. The program is personal and caring with a smaller group of people compared to other rehabs. The staff are accommodating and kind with many being former addicts themselves who are able to truly empathize with whatever you're going through. The music therapy aspect was very cool especially as a musician myself and I enjoyed listening to new music as well as jamming out with some fellow patients! I had a one of a kind experience and have been given the tools to continue my life of sobriety.P.S. Melod rules and is pretty good at skateboarding
Safe and healthy place to recover. Ongoing support throughout the entire stay. Access to physiatrists and therapists. Loving community
Here is where you want to be. Recovery unplugged will show you and teach you how to identify your addiction and tools for you to make a plan when you go back to society. Counselors that dedicate themselves towards your sobriety. Upmost the best recovery in Northern Virginia.
I had an AMAZING experience at Recovery Unplugged and highly, highly recommend RU for anyone looking to begin or continue their journey to recovery. The quality of their staff as well as their program is unmatched.
The staff at the Arlington recovery unplugged really helped ease me thru a very difficult time. I wouldn’t be where I am now without them. <3
If you are suffering from addiction not only will this place help you with that but also scratch the surface of WHY you are even addicted whether it is biological, situational, or both. The staff are all absolute gems and the community I have built with everyone there will last a life time. If you are having any reservations just curb them and go. You have nothing but your entire life back to gain!
Wow, this place has changed my entire view about recovery... Hands down the best recovery experience you will get in the DMV area. Amazing therapists and staff all around. Literally no complaints. This place gives you all the tools you need to apply yourself in recovery. 12/10, Would recommend to anyone in need of sobriety!
Recovery Unplugged is one of the best programs I have ever gotten the opportunity to be apart of. From the moment I got there I was welcomed graciously into the environment and soon felt at home. The staff is seriously amazing and I can't even express how knowledgeable they are and also so cool and down to Earth. This program means everything to me and I find myself wanting to forever be apart of it because it truly changed my life. I know most people in this society have a warped view of "rehab" and "recovery centers" but this was and is so much more than that. This is a home for people who are passionate, intelligent, unique and somehow along the lines lost their way to addiction. The counselors, behavior technicians, alumni coordinator, and more are just some of the coolest and most knowledgeable people I have ever met and made me grow tremendously. My month I spent in the php program was filled with so much laughter and great times with amazing people... there were lots of tears through some of the hard work, but there was always people that were there to give you hugs, offer their strength and hope, and grant you the space for closure, growth, and opportunity to succeed further than you could ever imagine. As Eric Clapton quotes in one of his live performances in Japan he says "Its the best place I've ever played.... its the best place in the world ... Thank you for everything.." I often find myself saying these words over and over again in my head feeling this way about Recovery Unplugged in Annandale.
Here we go, this program was one of the best places I’ve been to, and I’ve been to a lot of places all the way from Austin, Texas to Nashville, Tennessee. recovery unplugged was by far the best place I’ve been to recovery hit me harder than fent haha. The staff genuinely cared about the clients and from all the places I’ve been to RU has been a life changing experience. Woo, Rob, and jonathan were some of the people we were with on a daily basis and these people were there if we needed anything and I mean anything. For example I ran out of a medication and rob went to CVS at 12 at night and got it for me. These people really care. Lindsey my therapist gave me a perspective on life that gives me faith in myself I can continue recovery.
Very nice place smaller setting , staff super cool most of them in recovery . I had a great time and enjoyed my stay
The past number of years I’ve been trying to get sober, with varying (un)success. So I’m thrilled I found Recovery Unplugged, I got lucky. If you love music this is the place for you. I’ve been in swanky Residential programs, and IOP. RU is the perfect combination of chill PHP (you even keep your cell phone!) and professional, down to earth counseling and education. The staff genuinely care about their clients and make you feel like family. They’ve created a program centered around innovative tools and exercises that are easy to put into practice. I came into the program wanting to correlate music with sobriety, and that’s exactly what I got. The best thing about this place is the people. They provide an environment that nurtures connections between clients, and with staff. Plus there's live music every Friday!! I’m excited to be a part of the RU family and alumni program for the rest of my life. Recovery Unplugged is a blessing. It’s true, music IS medicine.
RU has been such a pivotal part of my recovery. From making it easy to get in and started during a time when I had no mental energy left to do anything, to the amazing staff making me feel totally comfortable and helping me with so much while I was there, and now continued support from alumni work. The staff here really will go above and beyond to help you succeed in your recovery and it's made a huge impact in my life, giving me the tools necessary to live a new life of recovery and build an invaulable network of sober outside of treatment.
I have never been to any treatment before and I didn’t know what to expect. But when i arrived i was greeted with open arms and compassion. The program and groups where in-depth and informative, I got out with alot of tools to implement into my recovery.
