Craig C. Chow's Online Review Report Card

Shockingly awful office. Lazy doctor. I was referred to Craig Chows office by one peak medical. After waiting to hear back for 3 WEEKS, a smug front office lady called to tell me that he was declining the referral. The reason you ask? I am quoting her here, “Craig Chow has over 14,000 patients and if they have a medical history, he doesn’t see them.” I asked what that meant exactly, as everyone has a medical history. She went on to explain that DR Chow won’t see any patients who aren’t cut and dry and simple cases. She said he just doesn’t have the time to “spend with patients”. How is this guy a Gastroenterologist? As an American, I often assume the worst with the medical system, but wow, this is bar far the most backwards thing I have ever experienced.

Dr. Chow has cared for me for over 23 years and I feel incredibly lucky about that. He is the most caring and supportive physician I've ever encountered. His depth of knowledge and experience are evident in all interactions. His follow-through is impressive. I would recommend Dr. Chow without hesitation.

Dr Chow is an alert, soft spoken man; his countenance radiates a wealth of medical knowledge; he is present, in the moment which makes his direct gaze, looking eye to eye very responsive to any and all questions; his office staff returns phone calls quickly, usually on the same day that I left messages; one of Dr Chow's staff, in particular, Tammy is knowledgeable and patient (no pun intended) making it a breeze making, or changing, appointment dates; she can answer most medical questions in lieu of always speaking with Dr Chow.

He made a huge oversight. Never checked via a different test, never told me what I had. A dug pusher. Not current on knowledge.

I would NOT recommend Chow ever! My wife has been a colitis patient of his for years. She was recently diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma cancer and her oncologist recommended immunotherapy which caused her colitis to flare up. And she was suffering; she could not eat, could not leave the house, lost 6 lbs in 10 days. When we finally were able to talk to Dr. Chow on the phone, he recommended anti-spasm medication. I wanted to make a follow-up appointment, which he refused to do. The anti-spasm was not sufficient and I took my wife to ER. This was on Friday. We called his office and left a message that she was in ER and to please call us back ASAP. We spent 5 hours in ER. Monday morning we called his office again and was told he would be calling us. Monday afternoon we called again and his very unprofessional receptionist (who is a whole other story), told us he would call later. We called again, only to be told the doctor was with a patient and the receptionist relayed a very vague message from him. We were told he would see her in TWO WEEKS! My wife has cancer. She needs help monitoring her colitis, so she can focus on fighting the cancer. She is miserable and suffering. As a teacher of 30 years, I would never get away with this lack of communication and negligence. Very disappointed with this 'doctor'.

Dr Chow has been treating me for crohn's disease for 18 years. He is one of the most caring and thoughtful doctors I have ever had. He takes the time to listen and understand his patients conditions and is thoroughly invested in his patients well being and care. I highly recommend him.

Started with Dr. Chow over 30 years ago and he was amazing then. Looking at what is new and caring about his patience is very important to him.He is a wonderful human being as well as a excellent physician. His ability to diagnose, help and get his patience on tract is wonderful. We left the valley for several years and now I have come back to him and his staff and they are all wonderful and caring as I knew they would be. Dr. Chow helped me thru my partners liver disease, done procedures on me. He is the best Doctor I have ever met, kind, caring, thoughtful, and skillfull in his field.

Dr. Chow performed my 10 year exam and followed through with a call in the evening to see how I was getting along. He gave me the report of the results along with necessary instructions. I would highly recommend Dr. Chow.
