High Lakes Health Care Upper Mill's Online Review Report Card

My husband just had a bad experience with Dr. Mann because he didn't listen to respond to my question. He just kind of blew up at me and this is not the first time. We are out of here.

I am so disappointed in this practice. I went in for a routine Pap smear (which is covered by my insurance). A few weeks later I received a bill from High Lakes charging me for an office visit of over $170.00. When I called to get an explanation, they said that because my blood pressure was elevated at the visit, they could charge the extra fee. They said the doctor notated ‘chronic high blood pressure’ which I do not have and have never had. I disputed the charge but was called back a week later and told I need to pay the office visit fee. Crazy! I will definitely NOT be returning to this practice.

High Lakes used to be a great place to receive care. Now they are just another part of the problem with our health care system and care more about the money than the patient. I have been a patient of High Lakes for over 15 years, but will no longer be going forward due to their ridiculous policies. My main PCP left a few months back so I was forced to chose a new provider. I recently saw one of the PAs virtually for about 5 minutes so I could get a simple blood test. The PA offered me a prescription in case the test came back normal and this would have been the next step (I declined until I after i had seen the results of the test). Test came back normal, so I called back to get the Rx. I was then informed that I needed to physically come in and see the PA for a “Transfer of Care”. I just paid $235 for a 5 minute virtual call with the PA a couple weeks ago, now High Lakes wants me to come in and do another office visit in person (so they can bill my insurance AGAIN) so they can “transfer” me over to this PA as my “PCP” and then I can get my Rx. Why would I come in and pay hundreds of dollars when the issue already has a solution? It’s no wonder our healthcare system is broken. High Lakes is just another part of the problem. $$$

Terrible experience - do not go here. Extremely rude doctor and staff. The doctor in-training was the only nice person there who seemed to actually care about me. They just want your money and will price gouge you for it. Went in for a new-patient physical which is covered by my insurance and left with a $400 bill. They explained that because I mentioned I had a cough during the visit I was charged for "extra services". There were no additional tests done or anything. Very unprofessional and unacceptable.

I’ve left 3 messages over a week and my pharmacy has contacted them twice and I still can’t get ahold of anyone. I wait on average 25+ minutes on hold only for them to answer and immediately hang up without saying anything. I read the reviews and decide to call the number they give in their reply’s to poor reviews and guess what nobody answers. I’m calling my insurance and changing where I go.

If you want somewhere that cares about your health this is NOT the place to go. They are not only money hungry they are condescending and self righteous. They use scare tactics to get you to do tests you don't need and make you believe that your health is worse than it actually is. In a single visit to a different provider that actually cares about my health it became abundantly clear the abusive ways High Lakes Health Care runs their business.

Praxis healthcare as a whole only cares about your money and does everything they can to charge you as much as possible. Went in for a preventative health checkup, which would be covered by my insurance, and instead they billed based on one of the few things I spoke to the Dr about. Which then meant It wasn't covered and cost me $$$. Still fighting with them now months later. Dr was great but won't go back!

Please answer the phone… please stop transferring me to voicemails… Im so tired… don’t tell me you’re gonna put me on hold if you’re actually just transferring me to a voicemail… it hurts

I saw Dr. Morgan at the clinic I no longer go to this clinic and have found a fantastic physician. I do not feel Dr. Morgan listened to me at all. She did so many costly test, definitely not ruling out the most obvious first. I complained of menopause symptoms and am now post menopause without the comfort of having care and understanding through it. I was told I was not in menopause. Thankfully I was able to find a physician that could care for me and did a blood test to confirm I was post menopause. I have started HRT still having some issues however I feel a lot better have a physician that can help me through my issues not order outrageous tests. Choose someone that includes you as part of the solution and truly listens to you not someone who thinks they know better what your body is going through than you do.
